I bought the same key on ebay.. They sent me two already cut. I don't remember the price off hand. But I think the seller is a dealer out of Texas. I emailed them the keycode in the paypal message. And they sent them already cut. And as tsachiti said you just take the guts out of the original key and put them into this key. It take all of 15 seconds to complete. Although you really can't tell from the pics. But this key is BIG. I friend calls on my cellphone. LOL But it is nice.

I got mine from ebay cost $ 45.99/ for 2 keys, free shipping and key cut and one spare battery.
You also can order from ebay with blend key for about 14.99 shipped. Cutting a key in my area cost
me 22.00 +tax. The key is great and make it looks a lot better. Just a bit too big. Wow Lexus !!

I recently bought my first SC, and I must say that I haven't had such fun on the "toy" aspect of a car since I had a BMW 630 csi years ago! Who'd of thought...a key upgrade? This place is fabulous.

If you still have the emergency key card, the code is on the black plastic card, the size about a credit card. Or, you can call Lexus dealer with the vin # and they can find out for you.

I too have been contemplating getting the folding key. Haven't so far. In the one I have been following they tell you that if your car is used the vin # might have a different lock due to lost keys or changed locks. I forget where they tell you to go to look up the info. I think you have to take a door danel off or something. Not sure. I had an 06 Volkswagen GTI (traded for the SC) and it had the folding key and it worked real nice.

I'd call the dealer. Mine didn't have a second key when I bought her. They got one using the vin I guess. I just told them I needed one. They sent me the key, not telling me that they had to program it. So it was a trip to the dealer to have it done. The one I have been following tells you to take a picture of the key, and they can cut it from that.

I just purchased my SC430, and it just came with the valet key. I bought two of these folding keys, should I buy two used keys off ebay then steal the guts out of them to use with it?
I will call the dealer for the key number. Did that work for anyone?
Thanks,

I have 2 working sets of remote 'guts' - one in an existing key and one that I found under the seat when I bought the car (no key, just the guts). If I buy these switch blade keys (or other replacement keys) and have the blades cut, there is more programming that I need to do, right (some sequence of key turns, opening/closing doors, blah, blah)? That is, these are smart keys with imbedded chips, correct?
