Default Ecru Interior Owners?

I'm picking up my Red/Ecru tomorrow and now I'm getting very nervous about protecting the interior!

What kinds of things are you folks doing to make your stress level lower? Are you using special floor mats? Things like that?

I need H E L P !!

Thanks!!

If you're Italian like me and Ed, you'll put plastic slipcovers all over the interior.

Just the standard Lexus floormat. The floormat itself is not ecru.

You can buy those clear palstic mats to put over the stock ones.

As far as the interior goes...that's why mines black.

My silver one came with ecru floormats. I replaced them with Lexus black ones which I feel complements the interior and do not show the dirt.

Remember when i said I took the front emblem off my car ? Well, I replaced it with one of those.

My grandparents had those on their lawn. The back yard was reserved for the fig tree (wrapped in tar paper during the winter) and the statue of the Virgin Mary.

I have the exact color combo you are getting and it looks fantastic, but it is a pain to keep clean. I have the century warranty on my SC in which the dealer will replace anything in the interior that is stained and can' t be removed. My dealer is also very good about cleaning my floormats when I ask them to.
As far is the plastic floormat covers, I have tried those and they only cover part of the mats so the edge gets dirty. I am thinking about getting some red Lexus floormats, found some on the net for about $120. The black floormats are also a good idea. The seats generally stay clean or can be easily cleaned with leather cleaner.

Default other floormats

I have Indigo/Ecru and my car has 19K miles on it. The previous owner was not seemingly very worried about that stuff, but the dealer I bought it from did a good job of cleaning the floormats up.

That said, they are on their last gasp and I am looking into replacing them with aftermarket custom-fit mats. I had great luck with these on my 91 LS 400 (for sale in the classified) and you can choose from a dozen or more colors. Groits garage or Herrington can get them. Replacing floormats every 20K or so is a cheap way of keeping the car looking new.

IMHO...

I have the ecru too, It does take a beating, so I decided to just keep the top down and stand up while driving now to save the seats.

Larry, plastic? Im italian too, but no plastic anywhere to be seen. You just arent allowed in any room in the house......lol

Not a bad idea.

Reminds me of when I first went to test drive the SC at Cerritos Lexus and asked about availability of the black/saddle combo. The head sales manager told me that the lighter interior color really wasn't made for me and (quoting) "it's made more for people like me who wear a clean business suit everyday." Hmmm, I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads-up. Be right back with my money.

I like to think that with the Ecru at least you know where it's dirty. If I had a dark interior, I wouldn't know where to clean, or whether I cleaned it enough.
