BMW tries revenge on Lexus for the SC430...
Hey
Lexus has done a fantastic job on the SC430 so BMW thought they might as well copy the design and save them some money.
check it out!

pretty close copy of the SC430, not exactly but the styling features are pretty close, anyone else think so.

I don't see it
I don't think it really looks like our car....
Does anyone really believe that BMW will deliver that car (V8) in 2005 for $47K? I think they are short by about $15K.

The topless 6 is going to be a pretty car though, no question.

I really thought it was a pontiac, although the picture is dark. Not a bad looking car, I do however see some lines of the SC. But every car shares some lines, how many lines could there possibly be? The M3 is $60k, so no way its going to be $47, although the M3 is in a different class. The 330 convertible gets to 45 or so. Also I think they want a player to compete with the Lex, Jaguar and next generation CLK. Ill bet it will be running 5.0 0-60 times though. Hey let them do what they want, at least the got away from their cookie cutter design, that seems to have been passed on to audi and mercedes who must just sit down a 4 year old and lengthen and hieghten their S class on MS paint to make all their models, except the SL.

Not after Chris Bangle finishes f**cking it up The "good" design elements won't make it - ex: flared fenders, deep wheel wells, clean lines BUT I'm sure "flame surface" creases & that crappy looking 7series trunk lid will.
As far as price, I think starting could be around 47k but that will be with zero options - maybe tack on another 10K-15K for fully loaded.
And too think I used to love BMW styling

I suppose it's up to me to be the contrarian...
Looks slick to me. I've been waiting for a 6 series since the mid '80s -- not necessarily to buy, but it was a cool car back then, even with the problems I heard it had. Agreed, the front does look like a Grand Prix, but I can't say it wouldn't be a head-turner on the road...
Anyone notice that the rear windows are up? Personally, I'd be pretty disappointed not having a hard-top.
The SC430 still rules -- there's no other "luxury" car with the quality, integrity, and style of the SC430 at any price. Of course we'd all feel that we have the best car. Fortunately, we're justified in our opinion -- consider that for a first-year model, the number of problems has been extraordinarily minimal compared to any BMW or Mercedes.
Pride of ownership of the SC isn't difficult, and is a great honor and pleasure.
