My folks were pretty keen in on getting the SC430 for a long time. But ever since my little brother wrecked our 2002 camry SE, my folks since then got a mini cooper and now they want get the mercedes S430 sedan because you can fit more people in there than a mini, and on top of that we already have a land cruiser anyways. I really don't want to get the mercedes. I want them to get the SC430. What can i say to my folks to get them to get the lexus instead of the mercedes? I am going to try and appeal to their sense of youth vs. old greying adult. But I need something more than that. Thanks for your input.

check some of the archives here (older posts) talking about repairs, fit and finish for mercedes vs. sc430.. and check out some Mercedes boards and how many complaints they have on repairs. that is about all I can offer... cost of ownership (at least time on road vs. shop) is less on the Sc430..

also the interior on the SC430 ( any lexus ) is far and away better than any of the Benz interiors. The Lexus interiors are plush, solid and use very high quality materials. the benz interiors are way to cheap for what you pay for the car. And Lexus has been the most reliable car makers with the least faults per car for 4 years in a row now ( from my count ).

And tell them if they just do regular maintaince and keep gas in it, it will last forever!
