Cool Videos (w/ resonator delete) and photos of summer setup that I promised.

So I kept saying last year I will post a video of my new exhaust and pics of my tinted tails. Well, it never got done. So here it is. Next week the grill will be plasti dipped. Thanks to all of the CL members who helped me choose what was best for my car. The front emblem was SOOO easy to remove, and the taillight tint makes a huge difference. I think it is the best mod I have made so far. It just makes the whole car look newer and fresher.

Here is the link to the video of exhaust with mufflers on: http://youtu.be/4wZlT2_ATb8

Now with resonator delete: http://youtu.be/yJnYzwYFSOk

Please do post the pics. The fact that you chose to keep the stock tips certainly shows class.

Hi Husker

Plasti dipped my grill last summer. Thought you might like to see how it looks on an Indigo Ink Pearl.

Best regards
Steve

I'm so excited to black it out! I'm actually going to do them emblems also. Just gives it a little sportier look because my rims are SO shiny already. I like the way your car looks without the chip guard. I wish I could take mine off, but for some reason so many rocks and pebbles fly up on the streets I drive.

P.S. How many coats of paint did you do for the grill? and the emblems? I've heard I should do about 6 for the grill and 3-4 for the badges.

No reason to get mad that you are copying, I copied too.
Anyway you are in the middle of the US and I am in the UK, not likely to meet up. lol

I gave the grill and the badges about three coats each, but take the centre of the grill off first, it's very easy. Start with a light coat and wait about thirty minutes between coats.

Mask up with about an inch gap around the badges, but make sure you cover the whole rear of the car and just peel it off the paintwork when it dries. Go easy and it will just lift off, but stay on the badges. Use a tooth pick or something soft to ease it from between the letters.
Clean the badges with some alcohol (not your best whisky) first.

Best regards

Steve

It was very bright today, so the red looks a little brighter than it actually is. It is usually a rich red, that transforms the whole rear end into looking newer. If you don't want LED tails, spend $20 to order them, then either do it yourself or take it to a tint shop. The guys at Lexus of Omaha did it for me. This is the link that Liquid SC gave me. They were delivered really fast!

So you can just pop the grill off? Or did you mean take the front "L" off. I've seen guys just spray the grill while it is still on the car. Thanks for your help!

Thank you very much! I can't wait for the grill to be all blacked out. The exhaust is great because you really hear it up until about 2,200 RPM, then it gets a little quieter, so at cruising speeds there is no drone.

No, take it off first.
A couple of screws and built in clips (if I remember correctly) to take off the grill insert. Just look down from under the hood, it is very easy and then you can make sure you cover all the surfaces and no masking.
