Nah,

Forget it, the SC430 sucks, don't even bother.

THWAAAP !!!

So lets see, you come to an SC430 Board for advice. What do you think we are going to say!!

We ALL love the SC. You would be crazy not to get one if you can swing the $$$.

It is the greatest car I have ever owned. But, it is the only $62K car I have ever owned also. ;-)

All of the colors look great, just a matter of personal taste. Dark is a little harder to keep clean, but looks great when it is.

Tjz

Good Luck

Your mother spent all those years raising you and you repay her by SELLING her your old car ??

(try to gouge her for as much as you can if you want the Lexus)

What car do you have now that you're going to sell her ?

Default LOL Larry..

but seriously.. why don't you look into a slightly/gently used SC430... you can save at least $10k that route.... I see them selling now with less than 10K for between $48K and $55K... There is a Buy-it-now for a red with Saddle interior for $50K on Yahoo auctions right now... and others on Ebay that seem reasonable..

...anyhow, whatever you decide, you'll be sure to enjoy the car!

BTW: Is luxary or performance more your pleasure? If you want fantastic performance at about the same price of t he SC430, the Porsche Boxster S with some nice options is phenominal! ..but also a different animal from the SC430.

I own the SC430 while my other half owns the 02 Boxster S... I love both for different reasons...

Fireball, you've checked into the right place. Start reading some of the threads in this forum. You'll find out how much we like our cars, see how Lexus has identified and fixed early production bugs, and how (even though some Service Departments fall short on luxury service) Lexus will ultimately help solve your problems to your satisfaction.

I bought this car for fun and figured I'd sell it after 3-6 months. I'm generally a two car person; one for freeways and comfort and the other for rable-rousing in the twisties. I'm also a German car person and figured the SC wouldn't measure up in the long run. I was wrong; this car grows on you. The sound system, the incredibly done interior, the super quiet top-up ride, and the smooth ride and acceleration will give any German luxury car owner pause for thought.

I sold my 4-year-old Mercedes CL500 after 3 months of driving the SC, as it has become my new freeway car. But I also find myself taking it out on twisty outings as well, where it's very respectable for a stock setup; not great if you're used to Porsche or M3-5, but definitly respectable. I'm currently looking into adjustable suspension systems which will keep my freeway ride, but allow me to bring up the level of twisty control.

So whaddaya wait'n for? Go drive one, and please don't mention RX7 in this forum again, unless of course, that's what you're selling to your mother... cuz Larry and the rest of us want to know.

Thumbs up THANKS

Sorry i mentioned the rx thingy, i would be selling her my gs400, 1999 model. I love four doors and just the overall power. Very curious about aftermarket accessories for the sc as well. i have my gs fitted with wheels/exhaust/intake and other various add-ons. it would be moreless a highway vehicle with another vehicle to be used during winter months. any problems that do occure..i read several forums..and some seem fairly normal i suppose...a used one is a idea i thought about as well...but any other things to throw at me...i will catch em all
