Could be almost 100 different things. Most likely a loose vacuum hose somewhere. Those codes are very difficult to pin down. I have had P0440 and 0446 on a 2000 RX for some time and can't find the problem.

Check out this thread on emission system error codes, more specifically post #3 in the thread. Also take a look at this site, more specifically the P0440 OBD-II trouble code explanation. I agree with Iolmaster, there are slew of potential problem areas. One may be your Lexus dealer who sold you a new gas cap, after reattaching an aged vacuum line that came off it's mount. Do you know which codes your car is throwing?

When you fill up the car, do you fill it right to the rim or do you stop when the nozzle releases? If you fill it up right to the rim, your evap system is probably sucking fuel from the tank and your canister is full of gas. (I had this problem with my Audi TT)... To fix this, drive the car with no more than half a thank for about a month to "dry" the canister. This could very well fix the problem. (it did for me)! :-)
