Default 20 inch wheel question

I was going to add a set of 20 inch wheels on my sc, when a friend advised me how wide a gap I will have above the wheel. I'm a novice, I thought the opposite would happen. He said it probably wouldn't look that good unless I dropped it down a couple of inches.I must admit, I was not planning to go thru that expense. Can anyone try to explain how big a gap I'll have or maybe someone has pictures of theres before dropping there car down. Perhaps my best bet is to just stick with 18 wheels.

fitted properly the wheels and tires will have almost the exact radius, there will be no bigger gap or lift just an illusion.

I have never been in 1 of these cars with 20s that could still ride well.

The gap is about the same size. But it's much more obvious with 20" wheels, especially in the rear. I wouldn't get 20s unless you also intend to drop it.

I have pics of my car with 20's before my drop. I'll try to look for it when I'm done with school.

I just put Staggered 20's on and its great, i get a little rub on a large pot hole/lump in the road but the look is great, I think if you lower the car you will get even more rub and noise and I dont think its that good because there is a nice 2 inch gap between tire and arch, I will post pictures this weekend.

Wheels - Eagle Series 227 (F) 20 x 8.5 and (R) 20 x 10 Staggered

BTW here is the link, I have a friend in the Tire/Wheel business in Houston who gave me a great deal on these if anybody is interested, these wheels are made in the USA not China!

As mentioned earlier proper sizing with 20's will give you a wheel/tire combination identical in overall diameter to the OEM's. This will also give you proper speedometer operation.

Check my garage for pics with 20's.

Rubbing all depends on your wheel size, tire size and offsets. You can run 20" wheels, lowered with no rubbing with the right setup.
