Do Chrome wheels flake only for those cars from Snow/salt roads ?
I've got a slow leak in one tire . Chrome wheels 2006 SC430 . Can I assume that flaking of the inside of the wheels only comes from cars exposed to salt from roads ? This is a California car.
thanks

It actually blew when driving to get it checked out down the street. Both the rim and tire were new when i bought them and it blew less than 200 miles.

A lot of chrome wheels flake on the inside of them. Most chrome jobs don't properly dip the inside of wheels (some not at all) therefore getting the remnants of runs, bubbles and handling marks to start with fresh out of the factory.
Yes, salt that sits on wheels that is never washed off tends to "pit" chrome.
I have had flaking on chrome wheels for years on the inside of rims and never had them creep to the outside luckily.
I wouldn't worry about it personally, unless it gets worse and creeps to the outside.
