washing the wife's sc this afternoon. CD was playing and i turned ignition off and removed key. a few minutes later i could hear the cd still playing. this is the 2nd time i;ve encountered this. Anyone know anything about this?

Yes! I'm scouring Club Lexus and other sites right now for battery draining issues and I just read this. Do a search and it will come up...try radio battery or stereo battery. I just read it. More common than you think Several people had their head units and amps replaced.

It seems that if the radio is playing with key off ignition switch may be guilty. I know on other cars if you play your radio with key off you can toast your alternator.

Never heard of that before. Strange given that the Alternator only operates when the engine is on and it's circuit doesn't operate otherwise.
