What I mean is how this Ferrari is known as the one that appeals to more women than men, which is what the Miata is to Mazda. Which is why I said I don't want my car, driven by a man, compared to the women's California. Has no one else ever heard that analogy?
I would agree that some people say the California is a chick car. To which I would say chick cars don't do sub 12 second quarter miles. But I've also heard many more people say the SC430 is a chick car too (at least in stock form). As much as I love the car, the SC is much more of a chick car than the California.

I am with you there, actually they are both chick's car, the SC430 is worst actually, it is mostly driven by old chicks
In a way, I am with husker741. Most of the time, I prefer a top of the line car within a certain brand. Where the SC430 is a top of the line Lexus, the California is a bottom of the line Ferrari.
But since the image of the Ferrari brand is WAYYYYYYYYYYY higher then Lexus, I would still prefer the crappy Ferrari over the best Lexus
Before someone jump me on saying the LFA is the top Lexus, the LFA is so off the chart and is not a regular model, I don't count it as a Lexus.
I fell in love with the S2000 and dreamed of owning one. But ended up owning a Miata, enjoyed it a lot, too. When I ride the SC, I am happy.
So the S2000 is a great car, very sexy, quick and the handling is incredible, It is however, for lack of better terms, coarse. Very loud inside top up or down, no room for anything, even to put my hat when I took it off. Fun as heck to drive but not a comfortable for any distance. I guess we wanted more of a cushy longer distance convertible cruiser. The SC seems to fit that description to a T, at least for us. When we travel long distances (both my daughters live in Texas) we like a small cooler behind and between the seats we can reach, and the "back seat" works perfect for that, small cooler in the middle, duffle on each side and away we go!
We also looked at the Miata before we bought the S but it too was pretty small, but a little more polished.
I do believe we found the right car this time!!
