Default Battery Woes

Admittedly I don't drive my SC430 much, however, every since I had the LuxLink installed 've had to keep a battery tender on the battery. I can't go two days without the battery needing a charge to crank her. I try to start her at least every other day via my luxlink even though I don't take her out, however that does not seem to keep the battery charged. I'm not pointing my finger at the Luxlink because I had similar issues before because of the infrequent trips out, however, it seems to be more often now. I will be exploring replacing the 10 month old factory battery with stronger battery.

Unless each LuxLink behave differently, I don't think I can say the LuxLink can be blame for extra battery drain. I got a LuxLink in my 06' 58k miles car with zero battery issue, and the car sit 3~4 days every week, the battery is 3 years old with 25k miles on it. There are planty of people with LuxLink without battery issue too.

Another factor is installation, my LuxLink was installed by Steve personally, so it is as good as humanly possible. Maybe a bad installation could create extra battery drain?

scdroptop - How's it going? How about an update on your new battery? This LS bad-battery link was recently revived and thought you'd like to see that someone else has had less than stellar success with Lexus dealer replacement batteries. You are not alone!

All good so far...I'm a little gunshy in letting her sit for more than a couple of days though. I have, and she started up fine. The optima (along with the spark plug change) allows the car to really fire up quickly! Time will tell, but the Optima has been great so far, I highly recommend it.

I donated my $100+ Lexus OEM new battery as a "core" to Autozone for $18 LOL My loss
