2010 SC for $36,900

Langsdale did a custom turbo on his wide body SC. A former member was doing an engine swap. Then got upset about something and quit posting updates here. Don't remember exactly what happened, but I think it was something along the lines of he was advertising without being a sponsor and was asked to stop. Another member ran across someone who had done an engine swap and was in the middle of another one. He posted some cool pics. A few members have done the Supra TT LSD swap. But all in all, you don't see a lot of serious performance mods on the SC430.

I think another factor compared to the first gen SC is that the SC430 has no direct FI counterpart that engines, turbos, exhaust, DT can be easily interchangeable with. Remember cars like the first gen SC both 300 and 400 had the Supras to piggyback off of as well as the GS for other parts. The SC430 shares some parts with the LS and GS engines but neither is FI. Had Toyota continued to make the Supra with a similar SC430 V8 engine or a V6 Twin Turbo we'd be GOLDEN!
Same thing with 300Z's and S2000's and Rx-7's...tons of readily available aftermarket and OEM turbo upgrades. The SC430 just didn't have those options. Perhaps someday if the used SC430 market continues to prosper and enough people buy the parts, maybe a Greddy or HKS or Tom's would make a more affordable turbo system for our cars? Who knows. For now there are just a few examples.
The best example I can think of is on YouTube for a FI SC430 (caution...language at the end of the video...but listen for the turbos to spool...WOOOOOWWW!):

I would say that the most significant modding you see on here is cosmetic, you are right, but others have done full exhaust, headers and like Langsdale did the Supra LSD which make some significant performance gains/sounds at thousands less (maybe tens of thousands, LOL) and also reliable mods.
