You never really know what a car cost you until you sell it or get rid of it. What it costs to buy is not usually even close to what it costs us to own the thing. Still, usually no regrets.

Bought mine earlier this month (3/11/15)
2002
189k miles
paid 8500.00

Interior was in like new condition. Paint (Millennium Silver) is very good condition (no prior accidents)
New aftermarket wheels
Timing belt replaced last year at 178k miles
everything works (top, nav system, all gadgets)

Had my local indy shop go through it this week and replace leaking front seal, jittery rear view mirror, and lower control arms. No other issues found. Tech said hard to believe the car has 189k on it.

I feel like I stole it for that price!

1) Just purchased: 10/8/15

2) 2004 Millennium Silver w/Beige interior in absolutely great condition, 52K miles,
Clean carfax showing car was always serviced at Lexus dealers. However, the hood
is not aligned correctly, so I suspect that there may have been a front end accident.

3) Paid $16,000 (Couldn't find similar year car with similar mileage for under $22k
on either Cars.com or Autotrader). So, hopefully, whatever repairs I do need will not
cost me the difference that I hope I saved.

4) Besides above mentioned hood "alignment" issue, I have noticed some wobble
and road noise from front drivers side tire after reaching 60 mph. I suspect there will
be some repair and cost necessary to fix this. Also need to repair CD player which will
not load, but otherwise the radio and sound system sounds very good.

Purchased Aug. 2015
Late 2003
133K miles
12K US
I'd say I got a fair deal for it. Has some minor flaws (all cosmetic). I've certainly seen others get better deals, but I'm happy with mine.

1. Purchased 9/20/15
2. 2002, Silver with Black interior
3. 44K miles
4. Paid $16,200.
I found the car at a Honda dealership in Yakima WA (via AutoTrader). Car had been on the lot for 3-4 months (I don't think the Honda guys quite knew what to do with it). Price had dropped from $20K to $16.2 when I bought it. I updated a lot of maintenance after purchase (Timing Belt, Water Pump, bearings, etc., replaced the 12-year old tires with new Michelins, and replaced the "Pie Plate" rims with Lexus OEM G-Spider Rims ($933 from Lexus Parts World). Pretty happy to have an immaculate, low-mileage SC up-to-date on service for under $19K! Hoping to get many years of good service out of the car.

Default 2014

1. Purchased December 2013

2. 2003, Twilight Amethyst Pearl (purple), saddle brown leather interior

3. 70K miles

4. I felt the deal was fair. Car looks to be in great condition. Major services done.

5. Paid $19,000. Bought it off the lot of a used car dealer in CA. full vehicle history carfax report checked out ok.

problems? none so far except roof noise which I corrected myself by solutions found on this forum. I had a mechanic check it out when I bought it, he suggested lower controls arms and radiator may need to be replaced but not imminent. Other than that not notable issues.

For a price point.

I just sold my 2008 SC430 w/57,000 miles on it to local Lexus dealer for $24,000. They have it listed for $29,990. It's been on the lot for 3 weeks now.
CarMax offered me $21,000 as did a Nissan dealer on a trade

Looking at drivers.lexus.com they did the following prior to putting it on the lot:

USED CAR INSPECTION W/LOF
BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACE FRONT BRAKES & MACHINE ROTORS
BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACE REAR BRAKES & MACHINE ROTORS
REPLACE WIPER INSERTS - REPLACE WIPER INSERTS
REPLACE ENGINE AIR FILTER
USED CAR INSPECTION W/LOF

1. In what year did you buy your SC430? 2012

2. What year is your SC430? 2007 pebble beach

3. Roughly how many miles did the SC430 have when you bought it? 17,000

4. Do you feel you got a good deal (did the car break down after purchase, incur high repair costs, etc)? yes, only needed new run flats

5. Roughly how much did you pay for your SC430?
$42,000

still love this car!! added a luxlink a few months after I got it, now has 28,000 miles. i plan to keep it for ever.

1. December 2015, private party sale
2. 2006 silver w/saddle, OEM spare, cover and correct carpets, no run-flats!
3. 97,000
4. Looked at 5 others, decided I wanted the 6 speed, this car had two POs, serviced only at dealers, had new brakes and rotors at 84k, 90k dealer service including new timing belt, can't find a thing wrong with the car.
5. $17,500. KBB said just under $17k, but considering the recent maintenance work and complete service history, I feel a very fair price.
