Can I get into any real trouble in removing the right hand door panel to get at the speakers?
I'm afraid of breaking a clip or something else that may go wrong.

Most have problems with the two clips pointed to in RED. The trick is to push in on the center and pry out around the outer edge. But the remaining clips are inside and just pop out... Some may drop out of the door panel but they slide back in.

Pole Position
This is pretty basic - but one item that could give you problems is failure to disconnect the battery when doing the work. The FSM contains numerous cautions about the SRS system and there may be other risks. It's easy and it could save some money.
