Default Front Turn Signal Bulbs - Making Them Clear, Not Yellow

Has anyone here replaced their yellow front turn signal bulbs to make them clear?

If I want to make my front turn signal clear, do I only need to switch out the bulbs, or is there also some yellow lens which makes the turn signals appear yellow?

no its just a bulb. but while your at it you might as well get some led's for the sidemarker . new low beam bulb and do an hid foglight conversion. because to get to it you will need to drop the bumper and remove the headlight.

irokdastar, thanks for your reply. You are saying that in order to switch out the turn signal bulb I would need to drop the bumper?

I thought about the LED sidemarker and HID foglight conversion, but I simply can't justify spending so much at the moment. I wish this car had a clear sidemarker for $10 like most other Lexus cars

I STILL cannot believe how expensive a simple clear sidemarker is... I always thought it would be a $10 ebay item.

you can do what i did and blackout the sidemarker.

you can do all of these for less than a 100 bucks.

go on ebay. hid kit is 40-50 bucks

ds2 bulbs are around 15-20

turn led bulb are 15 bucks

and leds for the sidemarkers in the headlight are about 10 bucks.

you dont have to drop the bumper to change the signal bulb
just turn your wheel all the way in, pull back the fender liner and reach in with your arm and you can feel the bulb. just twist and pull and replace the bulb. I changed mine that way.

dh784123, thanks for your response. I called the dealer they said to go through the fender liner. Hopefully this isn't too hard.

+1 chrome amber bulbs are the way to go! I'm doing an entire retrofit of my bulbs up front including new HID/LED for fog lights and headlights and DRL's and the chrome amber bulbs are on my list to change too! They work great for the 2006+ LED tails.

irokdastar, were you able to complete it, though? Were you able to switch out the bulbs? Any more details are appreciated. Thanks

Here is the problem you run into. the pass side is ok . but the driver side is a pain. there is the widnshield fluid box in the way. btw taking off the bumper doesnt really take more than a few bolts. might as well do it that way and do the other mods like i told you. save yourself a headache and a brused arm.

i purchase a set of these for the front headlights but I am running into a problem installing the bulbs into the sockets
the plastic tab on the bottom of the bulbs is not deep enough to set in the socket
has anyone installed a set in the front to help out?

Well after a lot of research they do not make a chrome bulb to fit the front headlights
I was going to attempt to make a set by painting the amber bulbs silver with different methods I found
but ended up with a set of LEDs switch backs
even though we don’t need switch backs the bulbs have both white and amber so there is no amber reflection on the chrome surrounding
FYI
i do have a set for the rear but the bulbs for the front and rear are different
