Parking Lot Encounter
Just thought I would share a pleasant experience meeting another SC430 owner in the parking lot of Costco.
Noticed a silver/camel SC430 with the driver still in there as I was walking to my car with stuff bought from Costco. The driver sees me a few feet from my car, gets out and remarks about how SC430 owners try to protect their cars by parking away from others. We get to talking and it turns out we both have 2005s but he has the pie plates and I have twisties, and my car is about 30,000 miles younger than his. We talk about his new ownership experience ( looks like he just bot his car ), how he got his rear strut fixed and what he wants to do about getting a spare cos he has Sumitomo non-RFT summer tires. I told him about people on this forum who use Toyota Supra spares or Mazda RX spares in order to save themselves the $650 to buy an OEM spare kit. Turns out he has been watching this forum as well but just has not read the spare tire postings yet. Reminds me of how I learned about our cars four years ago as I was planning to buy my SC430.
Told him about my RFT experience with Pirelli P Zero Neros ( they work when flat - i found out the hard way ) and shared some extended warranty info with him.
Helping other SC430 owners makes me feel good, especially a newbie like the guy I met today. Makes me want to stick with my SC for years to come because people who drive them have a sense of common purpose with other SC430 drivers.
So to the silver SC430 with camel interior ( with Cobb County GA plates ) that I met in the Costco parking lot today, congrats on your purchase and hope to see you in this forum. There are lots of really knowledgeable people to learn from here that will help your ownership experience. ENJOY, my friend !

OBP,
It is about time to get together again. I have been swamped with work.
Let's catch up when you are in ATL 1 weekend. I have another friend who has an SC and the 3 of us should do a mini-meet and compare notes. He had his timing belt done recently. Also we now know a Lexus Galleria mechanic.
Give me a holler.
