Default Best location to mount an iPhone (with cable) and with what?

What is the best location to mount an iPhone and with what? I am going to be installing an iPhone kit to connect to the on-board stereo system, which has a cable that connects to the iPhone. I would like to be able to see the phone while driving to use the map guidance, and to access other features. Is there a mounting device that anyone has used that gives visual access to the phone, but also provides a location to connect a cable? Thanks,

I don't have one for my SC but had one in my IS. Look at http://www.kudausa.com/ They have iPhone/iPod mounts for the SC in black and ecru. It held my phone securely with no problems.

You use the iPhone nav instead of the Nav in the car?

Can see a picture , anyone please, of the pro-clip installed in an SC 430 so that I can compare it to the Kuda mount?

Liquid SC: Did you choose the Kuda swivel mount and does it still stay in the position you want after much use?

It's their universal mount. It doesn't swivel or move at all. It's in a very good location within easy reach.

Thank you all for the input. I purchased the Kuda (black color) with a daul mount for two telephones and two universal clips.

Okay everything is installed. I used a little super glue to press the top of the Kuda against the leather trim of the dash, because I saw no other viable option to keep it firmly pressed on a long-term basis. The cable to the iPhone was fed through the space of the passenger leg vent, with a round notch in the edge of the plastic vent cover (made with a round file) for the cable to fit through.
