Default Tell us what you have that makes you happy. I'll start:

I thought this would be a thoughtful thread to start. What do you have that makes you happy..what are you thankful for...

1. I have a husband who thinks the world of me
2. A great job, that's stable and exciting
3. Good health--so far!
4. Friends that stick by--good and bad times.
5. A roof over my head.
6. No real money problems
7. Live in the best country in the world.
8. And of course..a drop top convertible that makes me smile

Share your thoughts..

Katy

I don't know Katy...hard to beat that list.

But if I may add to it:
  1. Living in a place where the weather is nearly always perfect
  2. Where there are endless opportunities of things to do....most for free
  3. ... with the top down, of course.

Okay this one reminds me of a bad joke so here goes.
While out golfing four friends talk about how well their sons are doing.
The first man says my son is doing so well as a realtor he gave a house to his best friend.
The next man says my son is doing so good as a car salesman he gave his friend a Maserati.
Third man said my son is doing so well as a stockbroker he gave his friend a full portfolio.

Forth man says I'm not doing to well I hate to say that my son is a prostitute. But well it's not that bad. One client give them a new house, another client gave him a new car, and a third client gave him a stock portfolio.
Life is good.

Yes, I as well consider myself very lucky, ( it could be worse but I won't bore you with the crap we are dealing with )

1. I have a most wonderful, beautiful, supporting wife whom I love dearly.
2. Live in a new nice house, ( this is where our problems are, shoddy builder )
3. Have great kids that are loving and doing well.
4. Have a wonderful vacation home in Arizona. ( still have to hook up with azkaty when we come down )
5. Have enough resources that we can do some travelling.
6. Hoping to retire in 5 years so we can spend more time in Arizona.
7. Have enough variety of vehicles so we never have to walk.
8. Have a cool convertible that my wife loves too!
9. I think I'll throw the wife on the back of the motorcycle and go for a ride today.

Katy, I agree with your list. I have a very supportive wife and 3 great sons who are now all grown and are all productive in areas they enjoy.

I'm starting my 39th year as a teacher tomorrow and love it more today than I did back in yesteryear. The kids are great and it is very rewarding to know that I had a hand in guiding their careers (I teach architecture).

My health is another matter! I'm not as fortunate as you, but the good far outweighs the bad. It can always be worse.

All my friends are mostly old college friends and fellow educators of mine who I value greatly.

The wealth I've accrued didn't come easy, but is sure worth the wait. Funny how much more money you have after all your kids leave the nest.

No matter what your political views, very few argue that this is the best country around!

And of course, the drop top convertible makes me smile every day too, and I'm sure it will continue to do more many years to come.

You had a better way of saying it AND I'm certainly more long-winded-but we sure do agree on the important things in life!

WOW-You made my day! I knew we'd make the top 10 in the WORLD. Being that my ancestors were from the Netherlands, I'm up 3 places from there! It is indeed a great place to live.... The other 6 countries probably also make the same claim. Personal satisfaction is what's important here.

You might get an answer if you post your question in the SC400 section of this forum... Here, it's the SC430 section...

The best place to live and your happiness is what you make of it. I thank God every day for the gift of life, and the ability to share it with others.

I would say my family makes me happy. But in reality you allow your family to make you happy. In essence the happiness comes and emanates from within yourself. Makes sense?
