Default Navigation gets confused

Love my NAV and will never buy a car without it - quirk and all I have found it to be indispensible.

Lately however, I have had two instances of starting up the car and the NAV doesn't know where it is. Both times the GPS signal was present (although I would assume that even if not the car would remember where I left it?).

The first time it "found" itself after about 30 seconds of driving. Yesterday it happened again and after a few minutes of driving (and the NAV completely baffled) I turned off the car and started again - and it was fine (does Microsoft have anything to do with our NAV?)

Anyway, this intermittent problem will really annoy me if it continues - especially since I wonder if bringing it to the dealer when it is not doing it will be worthwhile).

Any one else experience this? Is there another way to "reset" it?

Thx.

Try to recalibrate it. You can find out how in the NAV mannual. I had to do this to mine after the antenna was reconnected.

the nav system needs to see three gps signals and if it doesnt it might take a minute or two to find them

I'm with sooner, if only takes a couple of minutes to find it's self. That sounds pretty normal to me.

Yeap..if I parked my in the garage overnight, it will take about 5 minutes in the morning to get the signal. But I got 20% tint window, so I can't complaint about that.
