Smile New 2003 SC430

I am seriously considering ordering a 2003 sc430. I think it is one of the most beautiful cars on the road. I went to several dealers and no one wants to go below the MSRP. Maybe one dealer will consider an 800.00 reduction. Is this typical for this type of car.

I have not been able to see one. I have also not driven one yet. Seems like NY/ NJ dealers are out of stock all all 2002 models. I am considering Indigo Ink pearl/ Saddle. Does anyone have this combo? How does it look?

Dealer is getting a shipment of 9. By October 10th or so.

Great forum. I have many ideas already.

Good things don't come cheap. I bought my 2002 in August from a NJ dealer who only had 3 on the lot & 2 were already sold. I negotiated for awhile plus I had a trade but on paper they gave me $1,500 off MSRP. I thought that was fair & I took it. If I were buying one in October I would expect a $1000 discount in our area.

I think the Indigo Ink/Saddle is very nice & very rare. The Saddle leather is very orange though IMHO.

My dealer in New Orleans still has and Indigo/Saddle 2002 model on the showroom floor. They will go for about $59K. Saves you about $4000 off the price of a 2003 model, may be worth looking into.

Fulmitz

p.s. I loved it by my wife liked black/saddle better so I got that!

Thanks Jersey Sc. I also think that 1000 off MSRP would be a fair discount. I am going to call two more dealers today.

Fulmitz, I was pretty much set on a 2003 model but thanks for the heads up on the 2002 in new orleans.
Love your color combination. I think black and saddle probably make one of the best combinations.
I think the Indigo blue and saddle is just a little more rare.
Thanks for the pic. NICE!!

I got my indigo ink pearl on July 2, 2002. I did consider other color combos. I did want the burled walnut and not the bird's eye maple wood. I felt that the burled walnut wood looked better than the bird's eye maple, especially with the indigo ink pearl.

I have only seen one other car with this color combo, most are black/black, silver/black and red/black. I think you will make the right choice.

Good luck.

Thanks compgal. I found a dealer that is willing to discount 1000 off msrp. I have not made my final decision yet.
I heard from the dealer that this particular color combo is allocated to 12% of the total production a year for this car.
It should look sharp.

Check our Prestige Lexus in Ramsey, NJ about 20 min from NYC. I got mine there, it is forbidden to sell cars over MSRP there. I am afraid you have missed out though, they sold something like 400 cars labor day weekend. They had some pretty sweet deals for the 2002 models. As for 2003 im sure they well be getting some, they are very fair and I have nothing but the highest praise for them. Check them out www.prestigelexus.com, they are one of the largest retailers in the country, of course being in the region of the country they are helps.

Well i did it. I orderd the Indigo ink peral/ Saddle.
I was also able to test drive a 2002 black/saddle.
I am very impressed. I did not think the car was going to give such a guiet and smooth ride. I would of liked more sound from the exhaust but I also had the radio on.
I did notice harsh thumps going over pot holes (not enough to distract me from putting a deposit )
I hear the tires have been changed for 2003. This may help this problem.
Thanks for the offer Eddie but the dealer I chose is very convenient for me. I thought 1000 off MSRP was decent.

I will keep all posted.

Delivery October 15 or so.

P.S. I also forgot to mention I have an order in for a 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe. Carribean Blue/Willow. I have given this great consideration and althought the G35 is a great car, I believe it will outperform the SC in almost all aspects, there is a beauty in the SC that cannot be beaten.

I cannot even believe you said that!!

Exterior Styling-NO
Interior Styling-NO
Sound System-NO
GPS Navi-NO
Horse Power-NO
Torque-NO
Hard Top Drop Top-NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

All aspects?? -The only things I think the Nissan G35 coupe wins on is price & maybe trunk space. Still I would never compare the two. Two totally different categories, like AAA Minor League ball & the Majors.
