Hmm, I was actually thinking of getting around 40%-50% on mine. Not necessarily for the looks, but because my eyes are sensitive. I have a black interior so it would look a little darker, I haven't seen any pics of our car with tint that light.

Go with 35% That should be good for you. 40~50 that's light.

Default Tint Affecting Radio or Navigation?

Hello everyone, I am a new SC owner. I have the early 2002 model.

I am considering getting tint (likely 5% on the rear window) and I would like to know if it would affect the radio or navigation reception?

Thank you

It shouldn't affect reception...I just hope I'm never behind you when you're reversing lol

Radio reception is thru the main antenna on the passenger side rear quarter panel, along with a supplemental antenna embedded in the front windshield. The navigation antenna is behind the radio under the dash. So tinting will not affect either.

Default Mirror/Silver Tint

Hello,

Has anyone here had experience with mirror/silver tint? For those with silver cars it may be a good match.

Most people seem to go with the standard black tint though, but I seem to think silver or mirror tint on a silver SC430 would be nice.

Any input is welcomed.

ceramic tint is nice, if that's what you are talking about.

no ceramic tint is what the tint is made of its the kind that does not mess with your nav signal and stuff. I had mirror tint on my rx300 infact it came with it stock on the back windows and hated it but the car was also a champagne/tan color. I personally prefer the black tint on any car color but I have seen nice mirror tint on white and silver cars but its hit or miss, cant be dark and noticable mirror like if that makes sense.

Personally, I don't like it. I have limo tint on mine – 5%.

Liquid SC, did you tint your windshield too? I would imagine if you put 5% on your windshield you wouldn't be able to drive past 4 PM. Do you have pictures of your car posted anywhere?

I am considering the regular black tint, but the silver idea seems better.

No tint on the windshield. Any tint at all would be illegal.

Here are a few shots from a while back. It's mostly the same except I'm about to put new wheels on it. And I'm strongly considering a body kit.
