Stupid question
Since I rarely ever open the door to the audio system I was thinking about mounting my TomTom there with the suction cup. I don't really need the directions, but the traffic data would be great to have. Would this damage the wood in any way? I don't think it would scratch, but would it discolor over time? It's a really light unit, but is there a danger that the weight over time could affect the doors open/close ability during the occasional use?
I know I could always mount it on the windshield like normal people but I already have a radar detector and would prefer not to have anything else up there.

I thought about it as well but opted out. Too many bad things can happen. Your options are the suction cup, the sandbag on the dash or just resting it around the ashtray.
