Highest Mileage
I have 157,000 miles on mine right now, still in love. Had it for 10 years. Having issues with dealer regarding check engine lights and VSC lights. I want to keep my baby. any thoughts regarding VSC and check engine lights? Looking for a good tech in northern NJ

I owned a Toyota Tundra with similar Check Engine lights. Was advised to replace the O2 sensors and the fuel/air ratio sensors, all at the same time. Bad sensors can send bad info to computer causing it to make bad adjustments. Replacing just the O2 or just the fuel/air doesn't work. Replace all 4 at one time. Worked like a charm. Cost about $350 but I never had another CEL afterwards.

Haven't been on club Lexus in a long time, but I'm back, with a project SC430.
2002 black/ecru has 237,000 miles on the odometer.
Bad: front and rear bumper will need to be repaired and painted and the top chrome part of the grill is missing. A few scratches/dings on the body but I can polish most of the blemishes out. The car rides decent, however is needs an alignment badly. Also, during the test drive, I heard a clunk coming from the front of the car driving over large bumps. Interior is a mess. Seats has cracks but not torn. Armrest leather is all cracked up bad. The carpets has stains everywhere. I'm hoping I can learn some interior detailing skills from this car. And finally a CEL for a O2 sensor(s).
Good: top works great (seals been replaced), timing belts/seals replaces 20k miles ago, no oil leaks, motor runs great. Alternator has been refurbished. Newish battery. Tires are in good shape. Price of $4500.
I'm gonna try and bring this car back without spending too much on it.

Man this makes me feel good. I was freaking a little because my '07 turned (GULP!) 40K yesterday. More in love with my car than the first day and still have til September '16 on my extended Lexus warranty (which has paid nicely BTW for everything I've taken it in for.)

'02 sc430 with 178k miles on the clock. My father was the original owner and kept it in immaculate shape and serviced it at dealer throughout. Has gone thru a few batteries over the years and such, and has had minor things occur (ML amp, trunk struts, etc.) that i have seen other owners post about, but has been generally bulletproof IMO. It's my daily driver and have managed to cart around small kids too. My wife likes it more than I do and jokes around about getting a second one, I honestly wouldn't mind, it's that nice of a car!

About 125k miles on mine before getting destroyed a few days ago and the engine was like new, but this SC can easily go 300k plus at the very least.. I had a Mark VIII before with over 300k miles (running normally) on it with the 4.6 Cobra 32v Teksid engine, and that engine was tough as nails as it was able to handle up to 700hp without any internal mods, but it was really leaking badly from some parts while on its original seals/gaskets, but that was probably because it was a 94. It was one of the best engines Ford ever made, and the newer Terminator, Coyote, and Voodoo are actually all based on it. I would expect this SC engine to do just as good if not better, as long as you dont go over 400hp on stock internals.
A while back I saw an 05 SC for sale with 350k miles and it did not leak a drop just like mine, and it was all original seals/gaskets. It was VERY fixed up with racing style suspension setup, rims, body kit, engine mods, and it was around $6k because of the mileage. I almost thought of offering the seller maybe $5k and if it really bothered me that much, I could have swapped in a rebuilt engine/trans. The owner did a lot of traveling in the car, and he had 4 other SC's, so he really knew the cars well and maintained them all religiously.
