Default Completed...with pics and some best practices on install

Okay, first off...where did I buy it?

On eBay...$200 shipped to me. PM me and I can send you buyer's link.

Secondly, how long was the install? Two hours, and that's with a mini-engine detail and cleaning as I go with parts and storing old parts, breaking down the box, sipping coffee, etc. Took my time. I had previous experience taking the stock air box out though, I should be fair balanced.

Overall install difficulty: Mild...just used two different ratchet sizes, pliers (hose clamps) and screwdriver.

Other tools: flashlight, socket extension, engine cleaner (it's nasty when you remove airbox!)

Overall I'm very pleased with the Injen plug-n-play install. It fits pretty good. Not perfect-all other folks mentioned the engine cover and I can see where it could bother someone, but I wouldn't dare trim my coveted RED engine cover!

One hose doesn't have clamps on it, so like others I used zip ties and I don't really like that so today I went to Park Place and they have the clamps I need for $1.67 each but they have to order. How much extra would it really cost Injen to put this in the kit??? Silly.

I had to bend the L bracket they provide to get the hoses to fit on the charcoal cannister, but that was fairly easy. One screw clamp on the injen main intake connection broke because I tighted too tight, so I guess it's permanent? I can't get it off or loosen it. Oh well. Be careful not to get it too tight. Other than that the product itself is probably a 9/10...near perfect

The BEST part of this??? THE SOUND!!! OMG!!! It's freaking amazing! Sounds like a vette or something. I usually listen to my music pretty loud with the top down and the main street outside of my neighborhood (Park/Hebron) people drive fast on but you could REALLY hear the engine growl over all other sounds when you stomp on it....especially in manual mode at 5k RPM's!!!

The look of it is great! I'd give the overall Injen Intake a review of "Must have" status for any SC owner for it's low cost, easy install, great looks and great sound.

Does it make my SC faster? I noticed a little more higher RPM punch, but is it like adding a chip into a turbo ECU? No. Is it like adding custom 3" exhaust all the way from the custom high flow cats and headers to the tips which are 4"? No way. Is it better than stock or K&N?? HELL YES! Makes your car sound amazing.

Overall I think the Injen Intake is a great mod. Wish I would have done this a long long time ago.

I'm going to search for the red filter-I don't like the blue in my engine bay. Also I have the heat shield but the stupid seller sent me a black one instead fo the chrome with red logos on it, so it's being returned.

Just in time install for our DFW SC meet today!

Huy33, go for it, you will not regret it. Like the others said, the growl is something else.
IMHO the best mod so far.

I got to see and hear it today. I think the mpg will go way down because who could avoid the temptation to stomp it. Sounds great.

zip ties and oem clamps?

For the all hose clamps you need for the Injen, try the ones you can easily find at home depot.
cheaper, sturdier and look nicer.

Anyone have any sensors go off with it installed? I was talking to a local IS250 and he said when he installed the Injen on his, his sensors went off like crazy. They thought it was the MAF that caused all of it. He installed the F-Sport ones and everything was fine.

Any similar problems with ours??

I'm pretty much sold on it after hearing scdroptop's today.

My best guess would be to check ebay. Many will ship worldwide.

Or... I found this on Injen's website:

International Performance Centre / The Racers Edge
The Old Bakery Maidstone Road,
Marden, Kent TN12 9AB
UK Phone: 05602749906
Fax: 01634723530

Just so you know, Injen lists their SC430 Short Ram Intake for 01-03 only...
But it will actually fit ALL SC430 regardless of year. I contacted them for my 2004 and they told me that they could not guaranty the fit on other years simply because they didn't try it.

Thanks Scyul, thats great, I will try them.
As far as I knew it is not available in the UK, but I will give them a call.

Mine is an 02, so no problem.

Best regards Steve

Talwang-thanks! I couldn't show up at the local SC meet with plastic ties on my newly installed injen! I actually bought the small 1/2" to 3/4" hose clamp just like you showed in your pic above for $1.13 each at Home Depot and they work great! Actually I may install instead of the lexus ones on the other hoses because I think they actually clamp better because they are wider!

I can't explain it, but seems MUCH louder driving than just idling. Maybe it's because the drivetrain is causing the engine to work harder? IDK but I LOVE it!!! sounds like a vette or a mustang gt or something
