I searched didnt find any, would think it would be a good swap to do? Alot more power, better mpg, different.

Anyone?

I was just thinking about this the other day. I know it's been done to the SC300, not to sure about the 430.

I'm not sure there's much of a power difference but with the weight difference from V8 to V6, the 2JZ-GTE will most likely be faster. Plus better gas mileage, as you said. I have a feeling A LOT will need to be changed and replaced to do the swap, considering it's going from a V8 to a V6, and all the other 'stuff'.

SC430: 288hp ; 317 ft lb ; V8
2JZ-GTE: 280hp ; 320 ft lb ; V6

yea might be more of a mpg and weight advantage, i would rather put the money into a turbo or super charger.

of course, if you did a 1j or 2j swap you have the option of 400 or 500hp.

i would only do this if i found an SC430 with a bad engine, and in that situation i might be tempted to go with the 570!

2JZ-GTE has 320 bhp and 315 ft/lb. It's an inline 6, but not V6.

Why would one pay nearly $20K or more for a nice SC430 and then spend a heck more money for the 2JZ-GTE swap? Why don't you get a Supra TT instead? A lot of people swap 2JZ-GTE to SC3/SC4 because those cars are cheap, lack of power, and have hi mileage engines. A stock SC430 is more fun to drive on the streets than a stock 2JZ-GTE.

In order to mod a sc430 its expensive not as many options, 2jz-1jz so many ways to go, and u can get could power out of it, get good gas mileage. I have had a supra for a long time, thought it would be an interesting swap to do, i have been considering doing it, but dont want to reinvent the wheel if i dont have to, nice to know if its been done. So it seems no one has done this so far?

I been waiting for someone to do this. I been interested but did not want to be the test dummie for it. I'll do it once someone tells me its been done and runs well. i like the power options the 2jz-1jz is capable of producing. More of a concern is how deep your pockets go not how much power can be produced. That motor is proven to produce if you have the dough for it. Put me on notification once this is done...

dr tweak said he can do the harness for about 700-800, everything should work, a couple things may need to have seperate switches, but it can be done, all that would need to be figured out is the motor mounts, driveshaft, and exhaust. Attached is a photo with the engine out to get others motivated.

I believe it is not a Toyota Celsior (Lexus LS430 in the US), but a Toyota Crown Majesta with some exterior conversion.

JZS149 is the 1991-1995 Toyota Crown Majesta that came with 3.0 L 2JZ-GE engine (the same as US Lexus SC300/GS300/IS300 and Toyota Supra).

I'm going to a shop today that specializes in these types of engine swaps. I'll ask him about it and relay the info.
