You'll find that folks on this forum enjoy reading & seeing what the other members are doing with their cars. Pictures are always welcome (and somewhat required, in some folks minds). Discussions about previously owned vehicles and how that led to their ownership of the SC430 is common. (We've even had a couple of threads that were somewhat dedicated to that subject in the past.) So feel free to discuss what you did to previous cars and definitely what you plan to do to this one and definitely post pictures.

On top of all that, this forum holds a wealth of knowledge that from my experience far exceeds what you will find from any dealer or probably any Lexus resource publicly made available to owners. There are many of us here (including me) that have solved problems that baffled the dealers or problems were the dealers were just flat out wrong and stated something like "oh, they all do that". (If you ever hear that, bring the issue to the forum and most likely someone on the forum has already dealt with and solved it!)

Enjoy your new ride!
Harold
Hi Harold, and thanks for your kind words, I knew my Volvo on my ten fingers, but now with the SC I'm starting over again, I already have some thoughts, but I'll be back, I will first search in the threads before I ask a question to you guys

Hi Redliner

It appears from Staffans latest pictures that he has four sensors, but I have just two. They work very efficiently and are probably as good as a camera!!!

I am not sure if they are a Euro standard, but all the SC's I have seen in London (and there are not many of them) have them.

Regards
Steve

Staffen, she would like them on your car, but not her's, because they would cost money. lol I like them. I agree with Steve, with the openess of the wheels, the least would be, is to paint the calipers. I did like the tread on your old tires.

Thanks Steve, I have seen that there seems to be quite common on this forum to switch to new an moore nice looking discs/rotors, Often we Swedes change these if you put out your car at shows or if you racing.

Here are some pictures that I promised yesterday.

"SteadyEddy", Quite right with as open wheels as these you need something more, painted the calipers, why do not I had it done to my Volvo.

Right now I have four more things to do with Lexus.

Next Week varnish treatment

5 of may, new exhaust system, I want it to sound more like that there is a V 8 in it.

12 of may, timing belt replacement, it will fall to eight-year rule, not the number of miles

May 23, Then its time to replace Mark Levinson to a new Alpine system, maybe some of you get angry, but I'm not happy with the sound, I will use nearly the same components that I had in my Volvo

I also want to wish you all (who celebrate it) a very pleasant Easter

Steve, I can see that you have modified your exhaust, have you just removed the last muffler and replaced the system two straight tubes, I have been on Youtube and listened to some clips from others who have made the same modification as you, it's always difficult with "clips" to get an idea how i sounds, why ask is that I will soon replace the exhaust system. does it sounds a lot or just ok. have you done anything before, i.e. after the catalysts ?

hi Staffan

I have a custom made 'cat back' system with two straight mufflers in place of the resonators and two smaller mufflers behind the tail pipes.
I will post some pictures for you tomorrow, just on my way out to enjoy our glorious sunshine, it's 75 degrees here today which is very unusual for April in the UK.

The car now sounds like a V8 in my opinion and I am very happy with it.

Regards Steve

Thanks Steve, really nice of you to share your modifications, it will be of great help to my guys who will build my new exhaust system.

Just like you said if you have a V 8 it should sound like a V 8.

We can not complain about the heat here in Stockholm - true convertible weather.

Regards
