Default How low can you go?

I am looking to lower my SC430 and am wondering how much lower I can go if I keep wheels stock size. Another bit of information is that our 2007 Lexus LS460 drags on the driveway(it is really steep!) Any helpful information is appreciated.

If your LS460 drags on your driveway, your SC430 would be even worth. So instead of lowering it you should raise it.

You cant go that low.. I'm on stock 02 wheels and when i first "slammed" it and i mean slammed if you havent seen my IS. The stock wheels are too sucked in it hits the upper control arm over everylittle imperfect road. And it is BRUTAL. So no you should not go too low unless you get wheels with a higher offset.

If your LS is at stock height dragging then you should not lower your SC at all.

i installed megan ez's a couple of weeks ago and initially lowered it about 2 1/2 inches. it bottomed out on every bump in the road and bridge seam. I brought it back up to about 1/2 inch lower than stock. no problem now. my wheels are 18".

I lowered 1-1/2" and no problems. The thing to watch for is if you lower too much, you won't be able to adjust the negative camber within tolerance. Some coilovers allow for camber adjustment, but if yours don't, then about 1-1/2 to 2" is the most you can go.

So if I only drop .7 inches in the front and an inch in the back I should be good?

Okay so I did a little research and found out If I lower it even if I only use lowering springs it will wear on the struts. Anyone know if this is true or do you need new struts or will the stock work fine?

Possibly-truly depends on driving habits, age/condition of the current shocks and how low you go with the springs. I carefully considered this option too when I wanted to lower my SC, but decided for about $400 more I could get Megan Coilovers versus Tanabe coils so it was a no-brainer for me.

I started about 2.5" lowered as well then came up to 2" then ended at 1.75" or so. I rubbed on the first two adjustments as well and wanted absolutely no rubbing.

Do a search for "coilovers" there is a TON of information on this topic.
