I have a 2003 and bought the warranty with 49000 miles on the car in 2009 I bought the Lexus used car platinum 5 year 60k mile warranty providing coverage until 2014 and 110,000 miles. This is not the CPO. So far the warranty has paid out almost 7k in 18 months. None of the repairs are items I would have fixed if it was out of pocket I.e gps, ml, speakers, power seat. I paid around $3000.

Honestly with such a low mileage I wouldn't even purchase extended warranty, it doesn't seem you drive a lot.

I paid $2200. for an extended warranty and never spent a dime.
When it came up for renewal I just passed.

I feel that following the maintenance schedule that it is the best way to go.

So far, so good.
