Default opportunity to purchase a 2006 sc430

I have a opportunity to purchase a 2006 sc430 indigo ink blue with a white interior. Canadian car. 27,800 kilometers- 16680 miles, Firm price of 34,000CDN,
Car retailed for almost 100,000 in Canada in 2006. Any thoughts or advice?

also I have not been able to find this interior color in 06 cars, is it possible it is a Canadian only option or special order?

Blackhorn-it's not white, it's a really really light tan called Ecru in the US. They stopped making it in Canada I believe after 2006. Black Sapphire is the color name.

$82,000CDN was the MSRP for the new 2010.

If you really want blue, then it seems to be a good price. Something to think about though---you can get a really pretty charcoal gray with black interior SC430 for $37,995. 2006 as well. Here is the link:

Why do I say it's something to think about? That interior although is beautiful, would get filthy in Canada with your winters (if you would dare to drive) and is hard to keep clean. More importantly, the Lexus Certified Pre-Owned process 131 point check of refurbishing and restoring the car to practically new is amazing, PLUS you get the extended bumper to bumper warranty. Problem is with your blue car is that it's out of warranty now. What if something goes wrong? Most likely it won't, but it's nice to have that insurance. I bet you can buy this car (if you like the color) for close to that price!

This is a great color chart to use:

Thank you! Couldn't have compiled it all without the help of our great members who have been here much longer than myself. I'm hoping many of the new SC owners like yourself look at the sticky posts and search more, as there is a plethora of information on this forum about anything SC related!

Wish I had checked this site BEFORE I purchased my 2004 with 84,000 miles. I had no idea the SC430 has a timing belt AND it needs to be changed at 90,000 miles. Knowing about the timing belt would have saved me $1,000 at the time of purchase or I would have bought a car with less mileage! Thanks!

Default lexus certified prgm in Canada

I think one of the major differences between the US program and the Canadian Lexus Certified Series is that we do not get a bumper to bumper warranty included when we buy the car--we just get whatever is remaining from the factory warranty....I bought a 2009 certified series RX in June of 2010 - no warranty was included just the balance of the factory one-- i was offered one to purchase at a various dollar amounts for various amounts of time and mileage-directly from Lexus!

In the US, CPO warranty details can be found on the Lexus website.

CPO does not equate to bumper to bumper warranty.

And there are 2 types, Lexus CPO and Lexus Dealer CPO, 2 different animals.

Lexus CPO is the way to go and is honored on any Lexus Dealer. The other is Lexus dealer specific and you better watch out for the fine print.

Default Great Info Here

Just bought my first Lexus (am assuming I'll be in the Lexus family for awhile), a used 2004 SC Convertible, great shape, white with saddle leather seats, Under 50 K miles. Great information on this thread. Am still figuring out this site. Am looking for details on detailing - interior and exterior (do's and dont's, products, tips, etc.). Any info steering me in the right direction would be appreciated.

Mentioning some other common problems with the SC430 would also be helpful: side mirror power fold-down when going into reverse, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, anything else I'm missing???

Well some would say yes and some would say no. A teenager probably would love to get in the back seat of a car like ours. Not a good idea for a road trip hard to get seatbelt on when your sitting sideways

Thanks for replying. I'm debating on whether or not to get an sc for my kids, and I was just checking if one of em could fit in the back
