Default New purchase

Just purchased a 2003 Lexus SC430 with 47k miles, black exterior, saddle interior.

The vehicle has runflats, which I hate. I am looking for the smoothest, softest ride possible.

The Bridgestone Serenity Plus seems to be the best option. Any other suggestions?

I'm not concerned with performance or traction as this will be a dry pavement touring car only.

Will a modified suspension also improve (soften) the ride for 2003? Any brand recommendations?

Michelin Pilot Super Sports made my SC ride the way a Lexus should ride. SMOOTH! Of course these are summer tires, not all season.

Thanks for this great amalgumation of information. Truly useful. I've got a 2004 Gold 430 with white seats and 57m miles in near mint condition. Why am I having second thoughts about the car? Easy, after reading all the
junk from non 430 fans. I've had 3 Porsches before, and the 430 is not in their league handling wise.
But I have not had one bit of repair issues.......used to be in the shop monthly with those cars, and
if I brought another one home, my wife would........well.....not be happy.

And with the top down, it cruises.........just cruises.

Somebody...........help me feel better about my Gold with white interior 430 Convertible, please?

...just keep driving it & it'll keep making you happier !!! I've owned mine right at 5yrs & I'm loving it just as much as the first day I got it !!! As far as repairs, other than the regular maintenance(which I've done mostly myself), I've only replaced the battery & about to fix a small oil leak(oil level sensor). My SC is an 02' with 180,000 & still rolling strong

Smile Lexus SC430

Hi you all, from England am Quinito

I am an old Lexus fan my first was an SC400, Then a GS430, now I have an IS300 Sportcross,
which sadly am trading in next week for an SC430.
I always wanted an SC so the IS must go. I felt I must say that all the Lexus I have owned
have been the most trouble free cars I have had, and I've had a few , many Mercedes, all classes 3 's' 's etc. I drive from England to Portugal regularly (3000 miles) never any problems and you arrive refreshed, unlike other cars I have used. I must say well done Lexus.

I hope the SC gives me as much pleasure as all the others,
wish me luck guys ....

I have an opportunity to purchase a 2002 SC430 from my employer. He's original owner, the car has 22,900 miles on it, and is in "excellent" condition...extremely well cared for. I absolutely love this car, but would be reaching deep to purchase it. I'm looking at it as more of an investment than anything. I've heard that these models have...or will be discontinued soon. Can anyone give me some advice or thoughts as to the potential for it being a good investment down the road? Thanks!

That's a good deal, and if you really want the car, don't pass it up. But I will say, don't buy it as an investment, buy it to enjoy. Buy it with the intention of driving it and enjoying it to the fullest. Just my opinion, but I think the vast majority of fellow SC430 owners will agree.

Thanks, it seems like a good deal from the research I've done. And yes, I would drive it, but I live in Montana so the actual "driving season" around here is roughly four months or so, and even that's a stretch at times. The rest of the time it'd be plugged in, under-cover, and inside. Thanks again for the comment!
