Tilt down outside mirrors?
Can someone tell me please if the outside mirrors tilt down when reverse is engaged? I thought I remembered they did when I first got the car but they do not now. I have been unable to find anything in the manual about it and I would like to know for sure before I go in for my next service.
Thanks in advance

CaptPJB,
The mirrors do tilt down when in reverse - only when the control lever is positioned to either side. By control lever, I mean the lever which will enable you to adjust either mirror. Slide it to the left or the right and watch your mirrors tilt while in reverse. the mirrors will not tilt when the lever is positioned in the middle.

Yes. My CLK does this, but in order for it to work, you have to have the mirror control positioned in the right mirror slot. It does not do it with the drivers. I would assume that the ones in San Francisco do though. It is pretty neat because it helps a lot when parking. Havent gotten a scratch on the tires in a year.
