Default Ice:1 SC430:0

Just hit a patch of black ice on my way to work. Did a 180 and slid into the curb. 3 out of 4 wheels were trashed. Scraped up the side skirt and front bumper, but nothing too bad.

I'll probably be in the market for some new wheels. So if anyone has a set of full-faced wheels similar to my now deceased ones, I might be interested. Or if you've seen any posted for sale.

Didn't have the heart to take any pictures. But I might take a couple when I go by the body shop later today.

Very sorry to read this, but glad to know you're not physically injured. Fortunately sheet metal and wheels are repairable and replaceable, while you are not. Be safe out there!

Default Selling my wheels

Very sorry to hear about your ice mishap, something we don't have to worry about here in Houston. I just bought my car last night. I'm going to convert to after-market wheels. The wheels are from a 2002 with only 31k miles. They are near perfect, I think one or two may have had very minor curb rash, easily fixable. I can take pictures if you're interested. I'm not sure how much they're worth, but I'll certainly give you a good deal. Let me know.

Thanks guys. I like those Walds. Pretty similar to what I had. That thread is over a year old, but I sent him a message anyway just in case.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, at least you're alright. Now you have an opportunity to get a new set of wheels and change things up a bit.

Have you checked to see if they can be repaired? Are they a three piece wheel? I guess for money just about anything is possible. If you really dig them, I'd check at least. Must be some places fairly close. You might have to get a stock set till they get fixed.

They look repairable to me.
Or you can PM CL vendor MC3 Wheels to see how much the new lip replacement will cost you.

Thanks for the link. I sent him a message. Does a third party make the parts? Because Work discontinued those wheels a while ago. So they no longer sell replacement barrels. I already checked. But that would be awesome if someone else does.

Only MC3 can answer you that question, but it seems they can do the Work wheels, step lip or reverse lip.

You can also have an option to increase your wheel lip sizes by increasing the widths and decreasing the offsets at the same time, which may be a good thing after all.

Jason-sorry to hear about your accident-thankfully you weren't hurt.

Black ice is more dangerous than regular ice...

Here are some open faced wheels:

The 20" Asanti 139 are very nice...
