SC430 Window Regulator
I have a 2003 SC430 with about 96k miles on it and the drivers side window is going out. What was happening is that the window would roll down fine, but as I tried to roll it up it would roll up very slowly. Now as I try to roll it up it gets stuck about half of the time. I suspect that the motor is still in good condition and that the regulator has worn out. An estimate from the dealership was around $700 and a new regulator online was around $100.
Does anyone else have any experience with this? I'd rather replace it myself and save the money, but haven't found any information on how to replace the regulator. Thanks for the advice, I've replaced the antenna mast, trunk shocks, and repaired the speakers thanks to this forum.

There are some trouble codes associated with a malfunctioning windows used to narrow down the problem. First thing would be to see if you get those codes.
Then work your way through these PDFs

help replacing a passenger side regulator
Hello- I'm trying to replace a window regulator along with the motor and I found this post along with a few other that have been great at helping me get the door panel off and unbolt the regulator out from the door frame.
So far so good, very easy and straight forward using all the diagrams.
Now to my dilemma...
I was loosening the nuts to the regulator from the door frame when it dawned on me...there is a window sitting on the top of the regulator.
1. should i be concerned with the window dropping when I remove the regulator?
2. are there other nuts or bolts I should be looking for?
3. or is it that easy that I just remove the regulator and the window stays in place without me holding it?
I should have mentioned that my window stopped working about 3 months ago and I found a regulator and motor on ebay.
The window is stuck in the up position.
Thank you for any information or assistance you can give me.
