The Definitive SC430 Special Edition Thread
Hopefully we can get this to remain as a sticky, but there has been many questions and mysteries about the rare SC430 cars...the special edition cars.
From one car to 100 to 600, Lexus produced some very nicely appointed luxury roadsters from 2002-2010 and had a great run combining class with sport and setting the pace with uncompromised ratings throughout the years. Some of the special edition, limited production cars had and used materials and parts never seen on another SC430 which made them extra special. Now that the SC430 is no longer produced, those cars and their parts will surely fetch a premium at your local dealership.
As the SC430 comes to a lifecycle end (as we know it), I thought it would be nice to put together a meta-analysis of all the SPECIAL EDITION SC430's.

Neiman Marcus (2002) Thundercloud Metallic on Pimento Called “Silver Belle” on Candy Cane Interior. 100 Produced
The very first Special Edition SC430 went on sale in November 2001 as a Neiman Marcus Edition and debuted in the NM famous Christmas Catalog. Only 100 of these precious special edition cars were made. This car set the pace for special edition cars, not only because it was the only one ever made but also used materials and colors never used before like Thundercloud and the Garnet Birdseye Maple interior wood finishes. The “Candy Cane” red interior is exactly the same in the 2005 and 2007 Pebble Beach Editions as well as the Eternal Jewel cars and other JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) vehicles with red interior. The United States did not receive all the exterior and interior colors as Japan did, and one of the surely sought after production interior colors is this Pimento Red. The unique red engine cover and cargo cover pull would be seen again in the 2005 Pebble Beach model, but never used again were those unique door sill lights in blue and the unique stock-oem chrome “dinner plate” style wheels which were a first for the SC430 offerings, in addition to the Garnet wood interior. The car went for $69,000 including a cargo net and wheel locks, but Neiman Marcus sold out quickly and dealers were certainly not discounting this special edition SC430. Perhaps the most striking exterior feature is the beautiful Thundercloud paint which was a hybrid between the Millenium Silver Metallic (regular silver) and a future color that launched in 2006 called Smoky Granite Mica which is a pearl charcoal gray. The color is truly unique, and in true Neiman Marcus fashion…never seen anywhere else! Here is a list of the extra features for the $8,000 more you paid for the Neiman Marcus Edition:

In 2008, Lexus debuted three different Pebble Beach Editions-the ES, RX and SC. 2004 Azure Pearl Blue on Ecru/Black 400 Produced
Lexus today debuted the 2004 Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition retractable hardtop convertible to commemorate its four-year partnership with Pebble Beach Company, launched earlier this year.
The first of only 400 special-edition Lexus SCs was unveiled at the "Lexus Style in the Fast Lane" fashion show, held at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The hardtop coupe comes in Pebble Beach Azure Pearl color on its body and wheels. Once inside, it features premium European leather-trimmed seating surfaces, Black Birdseye Maple trim and customized Pebble Beach badging and floor mats. Additional special Pebble Beach Edition Emblems are on the front quarter panels and interior coin tray displaying the “Lone Cypress” Pebble Beach logo inside.
Additionally, each Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition comes equipped with a complimentary black leather Lexus and Pebble Beach Company golf bag.
The 2004 Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition is available for purchase beginning in late August 2003.

Making its debut at the "Lexus Style in the Fast Lane" fashion show at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the 2006 SC features an exclusive stunning new color combination — Tigereye Mica exterior and camel-color leather interior accented with an espresso dark brown wood trim. Only 500 of the unique Special Editions are slated for production, making the car even more alluring.
The 2006 Pebble Beach SC maintains its dramatic modern design and spectacular luxurious styling features unique to all Lexus models. The Special Edition features custom Pebble Beach badging on the exterior fenders, the center console and embroidered on the floor mats, which complement the exclusive camel-color interior. August 15, 2006 - Pebble Beach, CA - In celebration of its exclusive partnership with the Pebble Beach Company, Lexus will introduce the fourth annual Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition retractable hardtop convertible at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on Aug. 18.
Evoking a color combination reminiscent of history's classic convertibles, the 2007 SC Pebble Beach Edition features a cream pearlescent exterior paint called Starfire Pearl, with a passionate Pimento Red leather interior and black birds-eye maple wood trim. With only 400 slated for production, this new Pebble Beach Edition SC will be in limited supply.
While sharing the unique styling cues and refined interior trim found in all Lexus models, the new Pebble Beach SC includes special-edition brushed-chrome badging on the front fenders and center console; a Pimento red Pebble Beach logo is embroidered on black carpeted floor mats to complement the interior. The unique exterior design of the SC 430 is complemented by an elegant exterior/interior color combination that will be exclusive to the Pebble Beach edition SC. 2009 Mercury Metallic on Ecru/Black 300 Produced
The vehicles were unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on August 15, 2008. Production of these 2009 Pebble Beach Edition vehicles are limited to 50 LS 600h L flagship hybrid luxury sedans and 300 SC 430 hardtop convertibles. Pebble Beach Edition owners have the opportunity to customize their ownership experience by selecting from one of three distinctive merchandise packages: Callaway Golf Experience, Travel Package or Epicurean Encounter.
Celebrating its sixth year, the new Pebble Beach Edition SC 430 receives an exterior/interior color combination with a Mercury Metallic exterior paint and an exclusive two-tone Ecru and Black leather trim interior with Black Bird's-eye maple wood trim. The retractable hardtop convertible includes special-edition brushed chrome badging on the front fenders and center console, and an Ecru The Lone Cypress™ logo embroidered on black carpeted floor mats. It also features a color-keyed rear spoiler, 18-inch Machined Tourmaline alloy wheels, and white illuminated scuff plates. All-season run-flat or summer run-flat tires are available. August 15, 2006 - Pebble Beach, CA - In celebration of its exclusive partnership with the Pebble Beach Company, Lexus will introduce the fourth annual Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition retractable hardtop convertible at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on Aug. 18.
Evoking a color combination reminiscent of history's classic convertibles, the 2007 SC Pebble Beach Edition features a cream pearlescent exterior paint called Starfire Pearl, with a passionate Pimento Red leather interior and black birds-eye maple wood trim. With only 400 slated for production, this new Pebble Beach Edition SC will be in limited supply.
While sharing the unique styling cues and refined interior trim found in all Lexus models, the new Pebble Beach SC includes special-edition brushed-chrome badging on the front fenders and center console; a Pimento red Pebble Beach logo is embroidered on black carpeted floor mats to complement the interior. The hardtop convertible also features aggressive 18-inch G-Spider alloy wheels, a sleek rear spoiler, and either run-flat summer or run-flat all-season tires.
Since its debut as the first retractable hardtop in the premium luxury segment, one of the SC 430's most notable features has been its ability to stow the roof within the confines of its trunk in a meager 25 seconds, while still maintaining enough room for luggage. With a limited production of 360 vehicles, the fifth special-edition Lexus SC will be unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on Aug. 17.
The unique exterior design of the SC 430 is complemented by an elegant exterior/interior color combination that will be exclusive to the Pebble Beach edition SC. This special SC will feature a Smoky Granite Mica exterior paint combined with an exclusive two-tone Camel and Ecru leather trim interior and Espresso Bird-eye maple wood trim. Additional styling cues unique to the Pebble Beach SC include special-edition brushed chrome badging on the front fenders and center console and an Ecru Pebble Beach logo embroidered on Camel carpeted floor mats. The Pebble Beach SC will also feature White illuminated scuff plates, a sleek rear spoiler and aggressive 18-inch six-spoke chrome wheels equipped on all-season or summer run-flat tires. The wheels are all new for the 2008 SC430 model.

2009 Mercury Metallic on Ecru/Black 300 Produced
The vehicles were unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on August 15, 2008. Production of these 2009 Pebble Beach Edition vehicles are limited to 50 LS 600h L flagship hybrid luxury sedans and 300 SC 430 hardtop convertibles. Pebble Beach Edition owners have the opportunity to customize their ownership experience by selecting from one of three distinctive merchandise packages: Callaway Golf Experience, Travel Package or Epicurean Encounter.
Celebrating its sixth year, the new Pebble Beach Edition SC 430 receives an exterior/interior color combination with a Mercury Metallic exterior paint and an exclusive two-tone Ecru and Black leather trim interior with Black Bird's-eye maple wood trim. The retractable hardtop convertible includes special-edition brushed chrome badging on the front fenders and center console, and an Ecru The Lone Cypress™ logo embroidered on black carpeted floor mats. It also features a color-keyed rear spoiler, 18-inch Machined Tourmaline alloy wheels, and white illuminated scuff plates. All-season run-flat or summer run-flat tires are available. The 2009 Pebble Beach featured an interior similar to the 2004 Pebble Beach combining Ecru with Black, only added more black to the interior on the backs of seats and dashboard. The 2009 SC model also featured (all SC's) turn lamps in the side mirrors.

2004 Pebble Beach
Skipped a year (2003) and now the 2004 special edition SC was the Azure Blue Pebble Beach Edition. Check out those Blue wheels!!! Last one is a former car of a member's (RIP)...love the aftermarket wheels!

SC430 in Japan...Toyota Soarer 430SV Noble Colour Special Edition
Very nice...a mix between Neiman Marcus and Pebble Beach badged as a Soarer. Note: Not all JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Lexus SC430's were special edition if they had red interiors. In fact, red is a standard color for 2005+ Lexus SC430's in Japan. 2002-2004 Toyota Soarer's special edition was this Noble Colour. Note: Last black noble colour has been updated and rebadged. Nice!!!
