Hopefully we can get this to remain as a sticky, but there has been many questions and mysteries about the rare SC430 cars...the special edition cars.
From one car to 100 to 600, Lexus produced some very nicely appointed luxury roadsters from 2002-2010 and had a great run combining class with sport and setting the pace with uncompromised ratings throughout the years. Some of the special edition, limited production cars had and used materials and parts never seen on another SC430 which made them extra special. Now that the SC430 is no longer produced, those cars and their parts will surely fetch a premium at your local dealership.
As the SC430 comes to a lifecycle end (as we know it), I thought it would be nice to put together a meta-analysis of all the SPECIAL EDITION SC430's.
Neiman Marcus (2002) Thundercloud Metallic on Pimento Called “Silver Belle” on Candy Cane Interior. 100 Produced
The very first Special Edition SC430 went on sale in November 2001 as a Neiman Marcus Edition and debuted in the NM famous Christmas Catalog. Only 100 of these precious special edition cars were made. This car set the pace for special edition cars, not only because it was the only one ever made but also used materials and colors never used before like Thundercloud and the Garnet Birdseye Maple interior wood finishes. The “Candy Cane” red interior is exactly the same in the 2005 and 2007 Pebble Beach Editions as well as the Eternal Jewel cars and other JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) vehicles with red interior. The United States did not receive all the exterior and interior colors as Japan did, and one of the surely sought after production interior colors is this Pimento Red. The unique red engine cover and cargo cover pull would be seen again in the 2005 Pebble Beach model, but never used again were those unique door sill lights in blue and the unique stock-oem chrome “dinner plate” style wheels which were a first for the SC430 offerings, in addition to the Garnet wood interior. The car went for $69,000 including a cargo net and wheel locks, but Neiman Marcus sold out quickly and dealers were certainly not discounting this special edition SC430. Perhaps the most striking exterior feature is the beautiful Thundercloud paint which was a hybrid between the Millenium Silver Metallic (regular silver) and a future color that launched in 2006 called Smoky Granite Mica which is a pearl charcoal gray. The color is truly unique, and in true Neiman Marcus fashion…never seen anywhere else! Here is a list of the extra features for the $8,000 more you paid for the Neiman Marcus Edition:

Most Pebble Beach SC430’s made their red carpet debut at the year before their model’s Concours D’ Elegance Pebble Beach Fashion Show in Pebble Beach, CA usually held in August. Starting in 2007, Lexus debuted two Pebble Beach automobiles at the show…LS, ES and RX in four consecutive years 2006-2009. 2004 Azure Pearl Blue on Ecru/Black 400 Produced
Lexus today debuted the 2004 Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition retractable hardtop convertible to commemorate its four-year partnership with Pebble Beach Company, launched earlier this year.
The first of only 400 special-edition Lexus SCs was unveiled at the "Lexus Style in the Fast Lane" fashion show, held at the world-famous Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
The hardtop coupe comes in Pebble Beach Azure Pearl color on its body and wheels. Once inside, it features premium European leather-trimmed seating surfaces, Black Birdseye Maple trim and customized Pebble Beach badging and floor mats. Additional special Pebble Beach Edition Emblems are on the front quarter panels and interior coin tray displaying the “Lone Cypress” Pebble Beach logo inside.
Additionally, each Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition comes equipped with a complimentary black leather Lexus and Pebble Beach Company golf bag.
The 2004 Lexus SC Pebble Beach Edition is available for purchase beginning in late August 2003.

Only 500 of the unique Special Editions are slated for production, making the car even more alluring.
The 2006 Pebble Beach SC maintains its dramatic modern design and spectacular luxurious styling features unique to all Lexus models. Evoking a color combination reminiscent of history's classic convertibles, the 2007 SC Pebble Beach Edition features a cream pearlescent exterior paint called Starfire Pearl, with a passionate Pimento Red leather interior and black birds-eye maple wood trim. With only 400 slated for production, this new Pebble Beach Edition SC will be in limited supply.
While sharing the unique styling cues and refined interior trim found in all Lexus models, the new Pebble Beach SC includes special-edition brushed-chrome badging on the front fenders and center console; a Pimento red Pebble Beach logo is embroidered on black carpeted floor mats to complement the interior. The unique exterior design of the SC 430 is complemented by an elegant exterior/interior color combination that will be exclusive to the Pebble Beach edition SC. The vehicles were unveiled at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance Lexus Fashion Preview on August 15, 2008. Production of these 2009 Pebble Beach Edition vehicles are limited to 50 LS 600h L flagship hybrid luxury sedans and 300 SC 430 hardtop convertibles. Pebble Beach Edition owners have the opportunity to customize their ownership experience by selecting from one of three distinctive merchandise packages: Callaway Golf Experience, Travel Package or Epicurean Encounter.
Celebrating its sixth year, the new Pebble Beach Edition SC 430 receives an exterior/interior color combination with a Mercury Metallic exterior paint and an exclusive two-tone Ecru and Black leather trim interior with Black Bird's-eye maple wood trim. The retractable hardtop convertible includes special-edition brushed chrome badging on the front fenders and center console, and an Ecru The Lone Cypress™ logo embroidered on black carpeted floor mats. This ebay add seems to have some incorrect info. They claim this car was the first to have bluetooth in 2006 Wrong The 2005 was the first year for bluetooth. Some Of the SPECIAL OPTIONS are really standard as the adaptive head lights. Dont get me wrong my wife is a two time cancer survivor but the claims of this car are just plain wrong. Factory color ? I have seen this car before on the internet and my memory tells me it was modified by an owner. I could be wrong. Some thing is fishy

I would agree that something is fishy about this ad. I don't think Lexus painted it as a one-of-a-kind and would have to see proof from Lexus re: that.
If that's the case, I'll sell my #85 of 100 rare SC430 for $500,000. They may have not stopped the assembly line to make my car but its was made with better taste in color.
I have one of the original PB Editions...it's Pearl White with the Corinthian leather interior. It's a 2002 and just tunrned 100k. Thinking of selling it and the local Dallas Lexus dealer wants to buy it for his lot....any suggesitons on what i should sell it for?
Can anyone direct me to the original retail / sticker price on the 2007 pebble beach edition? I just picked one up a few states over... and loving every minute of owning it. I paid probably less than 1/3 of the original asking price.
