Default Eliminate "I Agree" in NAV

I have a 2002 SC430 with orig NAV disk
How can I eliminate the extra step of pressing "I agree" each time I start the car?

Do a search...been talked about a trillion times...best option IMO is to do like many of us have and buy a Vais Tech iPod aux unit (SL2 for you only aux) and use the great feature. You will find tons of great information on this topic if you search.

Except that the VaisTech SL2 won't hit the "I agree" but in 2002-2004's, we looked into it. This is a 2005+ only capability.

Habious-I had a 2002 with it and I got mine to work. Per the manual...page 9 of 19:

Activate / Deactivate “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function
Put your device in Simple Mode by rapidly pressing the [SCAN] button 8 times (MUST BE
Push DISC REPEAT button to hear a long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass
vehicles not equipped with DISC REPEAT as a physical button, push and hold the REPEAT
long beep to toggle the “I Agree” Automatic Bypass Function ON and OFF.

http://www.vaistech.com/products/ipod_products.php

Also worked on my 2005.

Man, I blew it. I thought only the VaisTech SLU worked on a 2002 when I added iPod integration? I didn't know the VaisTech SL2 worked in a 2002 Probably not worth upgrading now.

Wha???

Someone on here owes me an apology. He told me he actually talked with Vais and they said it would NOT work on the 2002-2004 SC430's.

What, me wrong? NEVER!! Vais did SAY that the SL2 would not work in a 2003, but if scdroptop got it to work, then maybe VAIS is wrong.

And you have 30 days to return it if you like.

If you knew someone who had the unit, you could always swap it in for a test session.

That's highly likely. I've talked to them a couple of times and shared some things about my VAIS and iPod situation. The information that was originally provided to me by VAIS was incorrect and they were interested to hear how it worked out for me. They were not necessarily SURPRISED, however. It was almost like they find out something new every day about their own product and how it works. Very strange....

This is where (IMO) you pay for what you get. Although I was laughed at for paying $400+ to have these units installed at Sewell, I never had a problem with them and even got a bonus by finding the "bypass" feature! I too called Vais and was told that my new 2005 would be able to have text. I also was told that these units "charge" but they certainly did not specify that it was not an active charge nor that it was a good charge. Hell, I find myself (because Ebony sits a lot) having to charge my 3G that sits in her once a week to start off with a full charge because it drains even when it's off. They failed to mention that even in off mode that it drains pretty quickly and when it's on (even with screen off) it doesn't charge very much.

I even reached out to the Vais folks on CL that look at our forum and was told something different practically each time. That's when I decided to eliminate the confusion and hassle as well as not to mention me possibly screwing up my red interior that I probably could not get replacement parts for and brought it to the dealer. All in all, Vais is a good solution and value for ipod integration and the bypass feature.

Does this bypass work with the iPod Vais unit only, or will it also work if I have the XM Vais unit??

iPod only. Installing both is pretty easy since they daisy chain together. At least that's what I observed while holding the tools for the guy who did mine.

Thought I would resurrect an old thread rather than starting a new one. I am having problems locating the Scan button on my 2006 SC430. The Owners Manual is silent and I need to identify the correct key so I can place my SL2i in Simple Mode and turn on the "I Agree" bypass function.

All help gratefully appreciated
