Let's Try this Again...Poll for AzKaty: What's Your Favorite Color Combo for SC430?

They DID in fact make the 2006+ with saddle interior. What combo do you want? I have the SC430 brochures for 2006, 2007 and 2008 (see pic below and above of a MRM with saddle) and they all list saddle as available in ALL colors but the 2006-2007 Twilight Amethyst Pearl...2008 all colors as TAP was no longer available and 2009 marked the end of a legacy of the saddle interiors.
My FAV on the saddle is Pine with saddle. So classy...like a MGB Roadster or classic XK Roadster!

Living in the sunny South, I don't generally buy cars with a black interior (although my Miata had one), but I did look at a silver/black SC430 the day before I bought my silver/ecru. If you leave the top down a lot, like I do, having black leather seats is just too uncomfortable.
I also agree with scdroptop about seeing the sales figures by color. That would be very interesting. Since the car's no longer in production, it really wouldn't make any difference to Lexus if their competition knew!

Little Quiz/Challenge for you all:
What is the longest running combo color of SC430? Exact color, no "look alikes" Hint: The color spanned from 2002-2008 before it stopped. In 2006 the leather stayed the same but something else changed inside!
a) Azure/Ecru
b) Mercury Metallic/Black
c) Thundercloud/Pimento
d) Twilight Amethyst Pearl/Ecru
e) Indigo Ink Pearl/Ecru
The answer may surprise you....
Also, did you all know that "Black Sapphire Pearl" is actually Blue??? Not the same shade as Indigo Ink Pearl, a little darker. Very close to black. In fact the Toyota reference chart (link below) shows it right under black, but those of you who have black cars know that it's either the black onyx 02-06 or Obsidian from 2006+. Interesting, huh?

Well, I can see my quiz went really well!!!
The answer was D) Twilight Amethyst Pearl/Ecru
The TAP/Ecru color combo spanned from 2002-2008 Wow!!! That's a long run for a color combo and still a rare, very cool car!!!
Another little factoid you all may not know:
The White Crystal Gold was actually manufactured in 2006 with the 2006+ updates, but you VERY RARELY see a 2006+ WCG, because of the widely popular 2007 PB and the very attractive and mass-produced run of the Starfire Pearl in 2007+. In fact, I can't think of myself ever seeing a 2006 WCG car. Anyone here have one? I'd love to see it.

Did you all know that there four OTHER cars that are NOT Pebble Beach Editions or NM Editions that had a color combo for just one year? Did you know, did you know? hehe
1) Indigo Ink Pearl/Camel 2006 (available with saddle, ecru or black)
2) The aforementioned White Crystal Gold 2006/Camel also came with other 3 colors
3) Black Onyx Camel 2006 (all four interior colors)
4) Costa Azul Mica 2010 (all colors)
Pretty cool, huh? I'm a geek like that, I guess.
One could say that these too, are rare cars!!! Only one year they made with the Camel interior...then either the color was updated, dropped or changed.

Did you know??? JDM J-Spec cars had other combinations that we did not get here in the US??? Like...this beautiful Matador Red Mica with Ecru interior AND blond birdseye maple interior! I've seen 2006+ SC's with Ecru obviously but not with birdseye maple. Usually they are with the Espresso wood. Interesting, huh? Nice car!!!

Uh Oh! Looks like Black has the slight lead over white then silver in third. No real surprises, huh?
1) Black on Black
2) Silver on Black
3) Black on Ecru
Interesting....we need more votes! If you haven't voted, please do so! This is a very very important, scientific study that AzKaty is performing! LOL

75 votes so far..and now.. a Question!!
..the following question arises..
"black onyx 02-06 or Obsidian from 2006+. Interesting, huh?""
What is the difference between these 2 black colors?
Is there an actual shade difference? Is there flake in one of these paints? If both cars..the obsidian and the black onyx were next to each other..what would be the perceived difference??
SCDroptop..do you have the answer? Anyone else??
Katy

Katy-great question! I've got the 2006 SC brochure color swatch out and put it right next to the 2008 SC brochure color swatch and I cannot tell any difference under different lighting, etc. Obviously the starfire and white gold crystal are very different but it appears the two blacks are not. Obviously the indigo ink and black sapphire are very different as the whites and golds are in these two years, but doesn't appear to be any in the blacks.
Obviously, wheels, interior and the updated lights might create an illusion to the average person that there may be a difference, and of course age, elements, etc could certainly change the shade of the car, but color swatch to color swatch I don't see any difference.
Anyone else on this subject? Are Katy and I the only ones watching this? Hello? Buehler? Buehler? Buehler?
