Ebay 2006 SC 430
Hey, does everyone think a 2006 with 91K miles for $22850 is a good deal ? Car is clean, little over three days left for the auction. Need opinions, must need the 90k service. Tigereye Pearl, same as the 06 PB model, seller has 100% feedback. Looks like an Ohio car, need some experts' opinions. Thanks

Has the car always resided in Ohio? If so, with 91kmi on it, the car has likely seen snow and salt.

IMO, I don't think you should buy an '06 with that many miles unless you never intent on selling it. Once it crosses the 100k mile mark, it will be a problem to sell without a large depreciation no matter how good the deal was when you bought it.

I think it's a really good price. Considering that there are people in OH that still haven't bought the car, what does it mean? I'm suspicious that it is listed at a 5 speed. Also just because the report is clean doesn't mean it hasn't been repaired. If I had time and financing I'd go see it.

,I'm 63, it will probably be my last convertible. My kids can have it when I'm too old to get in and out considering the high miles, I really think they must be highway ones.

It is a beautiful car in the colors that I desire too. I wouldn't worry too much about the mileage. It should last another 100K miles and give you years of pleasant driving.

If you like it and you're not planning to sell, put in your highest bid in the last thirty seconds. Even if your bid doesn't meet the reserved price, the seller might contact you to negotiate a price.

Hi VVTiBob,
I am just about there also. My '02 has 34K on it & it goes in tomorrow for a new timing belt.
This 4.3l engine is one of the few that Toyota makes that is an interference engine ( my mechanic was surprised to learn that ) and I do not want to take that chance ( $$$$$ ).

VVTiBob..I did have my timing belt changed at 89k miles and 7-1/2 years old. I had the Lexus dealer do it ($540 with free loaner car). Once again I was shocked by the dealer when they said the idler pulley and water pump were fine and didn't need to be replaced. After the service, the old belt looked fine too, but I had peace of mind that it was new. So far, all is well. I did think it idled a little smoother after the service. Now I wonder if the plugs should be replaced before the 120k mile service? Dealer thought I should wait.

I looked at that car also, no one bid. $22,850 for a 2006 even with 91,000 is questionably low. Most dealers put a much too high price on the sc430's i have been researching(I am in the market now). I wouldn't buy it without looking at it. Looks too good to be true, so it probably is.
