mixing summer and all season tires?
i am currently running dunlop direzza 101s. pretty good tires, but i've got two that are in need of replacing. i've been reading stellar reviews on the bridgestone potenza re960 and really wanna throw em on, but i can't really afford to drop a grand on four new tires right now... especially since the other two are perfectly fine. the bridgestones are all season, my current dunlops are summer. is this an issue? and if i go with this set up, where would you put the new all season tires-- the back?

I can't answer your question about mixing the tire types, but I can tell you my experience with Bridgestone Potenza's. I have had problems all winter, late fall and early spring with flat spots in cold weather. It takes driving about 5 minutes before they return to being round. I had Firestone check for belt problems and then road force balance the tires - 3 times. They rotated the tires to try to put the best two tires on front. Finally they replaced the worse tire with a new one. Now that we are in summer, the problem is better, but I'm not looking forward to fall when the temperature drops below 50. Best of luck in your selection. I hope it works out for you.
