Default good racing tires

Before i can order my rims (20X10.5 & 20 X 9), i need to tell them exactly what tires I will be using in order to get a proper fit that fills in the wells as much as possible. They recommended "VREDESTEIN" (never heard of them).

I only use the car for weekends, so "comfort" is not so important. I'm looking for something that looks real good, and performs real well. Any recommendations?

I'm running Nitto NT05. These are street legal slicks. They grip road like nothing I've ever had before but I don't recommend them if you drive in the rain or snow as they have ZERO traction.

Thanks! Good to know. I only drive her a couple of days a week, and NEver in the rain. That's kinda easy to do since I moved to sunny southern California.

Know what's funny?

I got my car used 2 years ago and I never changed the tires. I never payed attention to the tires until just a few minutes ago...I have Nittos on right now!

Not the same model, but NT-555 Extreme ZR.

How would you compare the 2?

"They recommended "VREDESTEIN" (never heard of them)."
I have these tires on my G35 coupe. My coupe with fully built engine and JWT 700BB twin turbo kit pushing 510 WHP 503 TQ at 15 PSI with race gas on these tires. They do not last, and their tread look very unattractive. I do not recommend them for luxury ride like our sc430. NT555 not bad but no traction in wet weather as CAMAracer stated. That's true!!! street legal, and looking good doing it...I suggest Toyo T1R. I have them on my 20 Iforged Aero on my sc430. This set lasts almost 20k miles......Take care Ned

Oh well, I just ordered them a few hours ago - ha ha.

But, since I started this thread, I read lots of good stuff about them, and the way the tread looks is all "beauty in the eye of the beholder" - and I kinda like 'em.

I'll probably have to replace them due to age rather than milage, and because they cost much less than some of the other top tires suggested on this board (like Michellene Pilots) that might last longer, I'm fine for that reason too. Everyone has different preferences, and I didn't see anyone say they suck.

But i really was considering the NT555s! Maybe in about 6 years ( = 10K miles) I'll go for them! I truly do appreciate yours and everyone else's opinions here. Thanks!
