Default Rims with or w/o a Step on the Lip?

I'm pretty sure after almost 2 years of owning my SC that I found a set of rims that I want to get.

Do you think the SC looks better with deep dish rims with or without a step lip? The model I want is available both ways.

Also, how ridiculous would 20s look without getting the car lowered?

I shot the first pic holding the camera about 3' off the ground, and the car looks like it is on stilts, but the second pic shows much less gap, taken at normal height.

When looking at the car normally, I think it looks fine.
I decided not to lower the car, though I think a drop would look better. I just drive through too much standing water, and places where the car would rub if lowered. We have speed bumps in our subdivision, and my neighbor with his lowered G37 takes 10 minutes extra to get home.

i prefer the step lip. it's more unique. seems like everyone gets the biggest lip possible just because they can. with no regard to aesthetics.

what's a step lip? I am about to tackle a kit after I lower...a conservative one though. Maybe just front lip, rear lip and a short skirt on the side. I love short skirts!!!

He is talking about the different design of the wheel lip.
I think it is just personal preference.

Reverse lip vs step lip

Default No lowering here

I have 20" mayas on my 02 and didn't want to lower it because of my bad back. I think it looks great the way it is. I have 9" on the front and 11" on the back.

Kaiser,

I don't think yours looks that much higher than what mine looks like with stock sized rims...actually, yours looks lower??

Hmmm, that does look like a bitter fit than Kaisers. I wounder if it has to do with different tire size? rims width? use of spacers? rim style?

The main reason I ask how ridiculous it might look if I do not lower it is not that I do not want to lower it, but because I still haven't decided on how to lower it.

Most everyone is using Teins, but I think (since I've never driven an SC with them) they will not be sporty enough for me. I'm trying to find what Blistein makes for the SC and information on it in order to help me decide. The rims have been decided on, so I wasn't sure if I should wait and get it all done later, or just get the wheels now.

here's a couple shots of the lip on my wheels. personally, i think they would look weird without a step lip. then again, some wheels would look weird with one. so it all depends on the wheel.

They look sweet Liquid! I especially like the finish - it really shows it off on that style!

It's tough to see in these photos the details, but here are the same rims, except one is with and the other is with out lips. These are of the model I plan to get.

PS.
I think I will start a new thread asking what coilover/springs to get that are sportier than the Teins (or did i already?? )
