Default Do SCs look good w/ Is350 rims?

hey guys,
anyone out there seen a SC430 with IS350 rims on it? in y'all opinion does it look good? are thier any pics out there? Ive seen one ride on CL with oem GS rims and i think it looks great but have yet to see an SC w/ IS rims. also, if i wanted to do a very suttle OEM looking drop, what would be the ideal setup to buy? just as many have stated on CL; the gap between the back well and tire is just too much and gives the car a very unaggressive look. anyhow, thanks for any help in advance.

Dave

i havent seen an 2sc on IS wheels but the way you describe it by adding a slight drop i think it should look really nice. Hit up the Photoshop threads and ask someone to do the chop of what ur describing and it will give you a better idea of what it should look like

The IS350 has staggered wheels and the tire sizes are different, too.
You need to do some calculation to see how off the overall diameter is.

As for the fitment, they will look as sunken-in as your sc430 stock wheels plus a set of staggered tires you cannot rotate.
You actually get the worst of both worlds.

+1 ^^ the offset will push them in more for sure...bad value. I've seen one SC in Dallas with the stock 18" IS (non sport) wheels and from side view they look nice, but front and rear look small. You'd be much better off buying some OEM Tournalines or Spyders or non pie plates 18" that fit better. Or MY wheels if you want a unique look! Check out classifieds or PM me.

I've seen ISx50 rims on an SC430. It looks good, much better than the pie plates from the side view, but I agree that it may 'sink in' too much. Plus ur putting wheels from a $35K car on a $70K car...personally I wouldn't do it

i think they look sharp, especially in chrome...would like to see rear view and side shot of the offset difference...wondering too if you could add spacers and hub rings to make it fit better???

Reminds me of back in the day a lot of SC300 guys were putting LS 16" rims on their SC because it came with the ugly 15" ones. LOL...times have changed-18"s are considered small! I remember my 1984 Celica GTS had 14 wheels and they were considered sporty!

LOL

I know this thread is old but I wanted to renew it. I've been going back and forth on a set of ISx50 wheels (for only $275!) for my SC430. Currently I have ISP Mode wheels but TWO are bent!! So I've been going back and forth between fixing the bent wheels or buying the IS wheels. What do you guys think?? Thx in advance for the two cents!

mIStaSC -- I agree that I like the ISP Modes better, but they are bent and the ride isn't too shaky but it gets annoying at times. lol. I love that black on black wheels look. It works really well on your car. Still on the fence, but at $275 for 4 ISx50 wheels I wonder if it's just worth it and just take the plunge. Fixing the two bent rims would cost about the same...ugh, decisions! haha

I hate black on black lol the rims were painted cheap so i tried it. Its more of a super dark black gunmetal with flakes. I say go with the is wheels

Haha, to each his own I guess. I've just liked black on black, starting when I saw a black Porsche Cayenne with some black OEM 22" wheels. Thanks for the opinion so far it's IS wheels- 1 | Bent ISPs - 0. lol
