Getting into Neutral w/ dead battery
So my car battery is dead and my car is faced-in in my little apartment garage. I can't pop open the hood because there is a shelf above it.
I was told I can put the car in neutral and then push it out. How do I get it into neutral?

This is a simple one, at the top left of the shift plate just above the "P" for park there is a little slot, take a small screw driver and insert it into the slot and it will release your park lock and you will be able to shift to neutral! Good luck!

Forgot to ask...will I still have steering and foot break control? As soon as it will come out of the garage, it's downhill into the street

You'll have to have the key in the ignition and turned to the "on" position to free up the steering column lock. You will have neither power steering or power brakes, so you have to muscle it more than if the engine was running, but both will function.

lift up the bottom panel of the center console and you'll find the trunk release.

PHXSC is dead on. You can also control the downhill by using the emergency brake.
