Default CU membership

Got to be a member. The company is virginia Surety by CUNA. The lady that did the paper work at the credit union told me the SC must really be reliable. When I asked her why, she said her new toyota had a higher premium than my 02 SC! I believe this policy is offered only by credit unions. The rule at my CU is that the member, their spouse, and kids can all be members. I have two sons who have accounts there and one of them financed his infiniti with them-all done because of my membership. Always check your CU for financial dealings!

My usual used car buying habit is to buy a car that already has an extended warranty from a private party, last two cars were SL500 and Vette Convertible bot with zero deductible super warranties (usually a private seller can't get a premium on the car for the warranty, same category as fancy aftermarket wheels etc.), but I would take your chances with a Lexus, the reliability is already "priced in" anyway if I can get nerdy and economic on with the discussion.

Welcome to CL bro, your right with the reliability being priced in, guess it's the main component why Lexus products just don't depreciate as rapidly as other luxury autos.
