Default Dyno results!!! Injen vs Spectre vs OEM

Hi Guys,

So after a disappointing showing at The Pursuit (ran the 1/8th in 9.395), I finally got around to dyno the SC. I took a thorough approach, comparing the results of not one, or two, but THREE different intakes. The first is the Injen intake. The second is a Spectre steel cone filter found at Kragen's similar to the Injen cone (except it is a lot more porous). Last, I used the OEM intake box. Each intake was ran a total of 6 times on the dyno, to give the ECU time to adjust to each filter and provide more accurate results. I don't have a scanner so I can't post the actual dyno results for you to see, but here are the results in summary.

OEM:

Max Tq: 274.4 @ 4026 rpm
Max HP: 243.0 @ 5556 rpm

Injen:

Max Tq: 283.5 @ 4000 rpm
Max HP: 251.2 @ 5464 rpm

Spectre:

Max Tq: 292.3 @ 4006 rpm
Max HP: 255.9 @ 5530 rpm

So as you can see, the Injen intake had an increase of +9.1 ft/lb and +8.2HP, while the Spectre intake had an increase of +17.9 ft/lb and +12.9HP over the stock airbox.

Keep in mind all of the mods I have installed are probably working in unison to provide these results. Also, the guys that did the dyno used 4th gear and only gave me results starting from 4000 to 6000 rpm. The graph shows peak torque starting at 4k rpm, but I have a feeling that if the graph was extrapolated from 3k, it might have been higher.

Edit* This was done at WORKS in Infineon Raceway on a Dynapack 4-wheel chassis dynamometer @ 76 degrees.

Thanks for posting your results, its interesting to find that the simplest design yielded the best results.

did you just attach the Spectre filter to the oem pipe? was there a heat shield?

how much of a gain did you get from the headers, did you see numbers like pearlpower did or were they more like mine.

^thanks for the experimentation as its great for noobs like me who are trying to scrape up money for some mods, would have hoped for better times, but at least the intake mods make an obvious diff at the dyno...bro drop some more pics of your beast in the picture thread
