Did everyone pay MSRP or MSRP+?

Paid MSRP. Ordered in May 2001, received 2d, non-rare, color choice (silver/ecru) Jan 2002.
Guess I got lucky on my '92 SC400 - picked it up "used" with 2500 miles in March of '92, $3000 under MSRP No lines, no waiting, no luxury tax .....

On Long Island, they're very easy to get. Most dealers have anywhere from 5 to a dozen on the lot. The only problem is if you want a silver/black. That color combo takes anywhere from 30 to 90 days+.

Paid MSRP, but got the black pearl emblems added in.
Ordered car 1/2001 received it 7/15/2001. Don't know about the wait now but I have seen very few in Sonoma County. I don't think my dealer gets that many in allocation.
The Lexus dealerships I have dealt with (Tampa Bay, Atlanta, Santa Rosa) has been very good about not marking up the SCs. I remember paying MSRP for my first SC400 in July of 1991. From what I remember the wait list at the dealership for the original SC was over 200 people.

Is Indigo really a rare color?????
Wow! I ordered my SC on Friday, March 15, 2002 and it was in within 11 days on Wednesday, March 26th!!!! At first I was told that there was an Indigo/Ecru in North Carolina....but then the sales manager discovered that it did not have the run-flat tires. So, I understand that they found the car with all the options on a ship coming from Japan to Jacksonville, Fl. Of course, then they had to truck it to Knoxville, Tennessee. The salesman told me that they only made 5% of the SC's in the Indigo color......Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks bunches,
Vicky

Vicky,
I have heard the same thing.. Only 5% of all SC430's are in Indigo and from what I was told by my dealer the rarest colour combo is Indigo and Saddle.. I forget who here on CL has that combo but it doesn't look too bad..
Here is the list that my guy at Lexus gave me in rare to most popular exterior colours:
Indigo Ink Pearl
Twilight Amethyst Pearl
Midnight Pine Pearl
Egyptian Sand Pearl
Absolutely Red
Winter Gold Crystal
Black Onyx
Millennium Silver Metallic
I'm guessing that this list would vary from region to region but it shouldn't be too far off.. Just thought I would pass this along but whatever colour you choose it is still a rare beast to see one on the road.. Gentleman in a brand new LS430 gave me 2 thumbs up today so I returned the thumbs up for his RIDE too.. Damned if the LS doesn't make the SC430 look like a play toy..

I decided on the SC430, and my first choice in color was Indigo/Saddle, went into the dealer down the street to take a look and test drive and this combo was sitting on the show room floor! They said it just came in, and it was a rare combo, from the sound of this thread I was pretty lucky to get my first choice, took a day to work out the details and I have been enjoying it since. Some times you just have to have luck on your side.

I made my deposit in March 2001 and picked up my 430 in July 2001, paying MSRP.
Beating my brains out trying to decide on a color combination, I had a hunch that black and silver would be the most popular and 2SAVVY's post bears that out.
My first choice was black/black, second was green/saddle but finally practicality hit me in the face and I changed it to silver/black. It's just not practical around here to have a dark car unless you want to wash it every other day.
Silver shines even when it's dusty and absolutely dazzles when it's clean.
