Default 02 SC430 - humming noise behind rear seat

Just noticed a fairly loud humming noise that sounds almost like it is behind the reat seat. Anyone have an idea?

Searched around and couldn't find anything other than one other post that has a broken link to another thread

Thanks!
Mike

Maybe a blown speaker. Your subwoofer is behind the rear seats.

True, but a fuel pump that suddenly becomes much louder can be a sign of pending pump failure.

I vote for the sub woofer being blown. Also what about nav-dvd player humming? Could also be the fuel pump too...they tend to get louder with age/wear.

Update. Seems to only happen for the first minute or so the car is on. Haven't had too much time to look around, but it may be the nav-dvd, I was thinking the same thing.

The humming you hear when you turn the key to the "ON" position is the fuel pump priming. This is normal. I doubt the pump is going bad. The Denso fuel pumps used in toyota and Lexus are pretty durable.
