Default Other Motor Interests of SC430 Owners

Been a bit quiet in here lately, so I thought I'd start the following thread. What other motor cars/interests do you fellow SC430 owners have?

I'll start:

*big* F1 fan
go Ferrari! (and Toyota of course this year)

motorcycles
(2, both Hondas, 2000 VFR 800i and 2001 Goldwing GL1800)

And my big interest.... 125cc Shifter Kart racing. I've raced many different vehicles (SCCA autocross, Formula Fords, high performance sports cars in the Silver State Classic, etc.) Nothing beats shifters for performance and bang for the buck. 0-60 in under 4 seconds, 130mph top speed, 3 g cornering ability. Here's a picture of my current kart with the SC430. [out first practice session of the season is tomorrow, and I've spent a good month rebuilding the kart for this year]

Let's hear some more...

WOW I didnt think you can tell so much from a mans garage, I can tell, that you like skieng, bikes both crotch rockets and cruisers from the 2 bikes I see in the pic, obviosly you like cart racing, and it looks like biking too, and you like entertainment systems judging by those speakers on the top shelf, you also like working on your own cars, and bikes, and finally you are looking for the endless presuit of perfection hence the SC430

Hey I have one of those older shifter carts (88 KX125 or something), you cant fix it can you? I never planned on racing it, but that thing when it did work was one crazy ride.

F1 is very cool too....go Toyota....and of course Juan Pablo Montoya.

As for other things if you guys ever get a chance look around for import car races. Not the owner emphasized races, but the pros/owners. Havin owned a Supra and raced it I must say im a huge fan of those things. Watching one lay down an 8 second pass and making no more noise then a whistle is quite impressive.

Ok, I'm impressed. The Cruiser is my wife's (Honda 250 Rebel), but otherwise, you made Sculley and Mulder proud (those aren't speakers on the shelf, they're stacked Kart tires, but hey, I do do audio/video including HDTV)

So, let's see your garage?

Wow.. I didn't realize there were that many F1 fans out there... I watch whenever there is a race on Speedvision... NO one at my work is a fan of F1 and many don't even know what it is... NASCAR seems the big thrill among my co-workers (ICK)... but that is just my view on things... Anyway, OTHER my (or I should say OUR) other interests include Autocross racing (NOT with the SC430 either but with the Porsche 911 I also own)... AND travel is a passion of ours... along with just about anything related to automotive excellence (grin)... Speedvision was our big friend until it turned into a primary NASCARvision... boo!!!

F1 is probably the largest sport in the world. It includes sites one can only imagine. I mean going to the Yankee parade in 96 after the one the World Series was just amazing. When Schumacher wins and goes back to italy it makes the parade look like a social gathering. Even at the brickyard other racers were amazed at the crowd and the amount of people attending the F1 race. It is the pinnacle of racing. Someone once gave me an example of the cost spent in the sports, Indy cars $1 million, Cart $10 million, F1, $100 million. Much of the stuff off of our cars comes from their vehicles, I believe ABS and traction control to name a few. Schumacher also makes more money a year then Michael Jordan. I believe the best racers are guaranteed $40 million a year for several years, and Schumacher (if im even spelling his name right) made something like 70-80 million last year. Im not a big fan of it, mainly because its not a US thing, but I do watch in amazement at times.

BTW that racer a few years or maybe more, back in F1 that was killed was a star 100 times greater then Dale Earnhardt....thier worlwide popularity paled in camparison and left many people outraged.

Schumacher made $ 38.000.000 racing last year and about the same from merchandising and other stuff.
Most of the drivers are in the 0.5-10.000.000 range.

I also have raced Karts. 100cc and shifters. Other interests are Harley Soft Tail, and 96 Viper GTS. Have a new Viper VGX on order, and will sell SC 430 when that comes in. Being raised in Detroit has given me a love for cars, and living in San Diego gives me the weather to enjoy them year round.
