Default The SC430 visited the "Tail of the Dragon" N. Carolina!

Took a 1200 mile round trip this weekend to Deals Gap in North Carolina also know as The Tail of the dragon! The SC loved the trip except she didn't like the cut back turns as much as the other cars in the group. I was left in the dust of the little car that was with me. The SC was just too heavy and I had too much body roll. I am planning on correcting that problem soon with a set of coils and lowering her a bit. We will see next year how she does! Here are a few pictures.

Congrats on making it back in one piece

Some of our members are planning our forums seventh? annual Lexus dragon meet below

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sou...-cl-event.html

PS in case you aren't familiar with the local photographers, their are usually a couple of sites that post / sell images from the twisties on Deal's Gap. The most famous one is Killboy.com http://www.killboy.com/calendar.jsp

Okay, the "little car" that was with you did the curves better.

How did that little car do on the 1200 rountrip miles getting there and getting back?

Let's see here...good 1200 miles, not so good 23 miles vs. good 23 miles, not so good 1200 miles. Hmmmmmmmmm let me think. Which do I want? Boy! That's a toughie.

Here's a suggestion. Do you REALLY want to kick *** on those 23 miles?

Well said! I did enjoy the complete drive but the others did need to take a LOT of breaks!

Absolutely. We've progressed over the years from a nearly Lexus exclusive event to a mixed bag of vehicles. Lexus drivers moving on to other cars and still coming, bringing friends, etc.

Does anyone know where I can buy one of those, "My other car is a Lexus" tag frames so everyone will know I'm not a spy?

Congrats, its great! As Dave stated, we've conquered the "Dragon" quite a few times over the past few years. Its something everyone should try at least once.

Very scenic too. Here is a thread about doing it in 2009!!

I won't be there this year as I just came back but next year I plan on meeting you all down there for a good ol time! BTW the lodge is closed and from what I hear, is not going to open this year. Last year was a bad year for them and they can't make it happen this year. Something about the crackdown on speeders and the police patrolling....too much killed the business.
